4.4 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pretty good IPA, though falls just short of the pantheon currently occupied by Dreadnaught, White Knuckle, and Pliny the Elder. The aroma is just about perfect, with a heavy dose of hops and swirls of fruit and pinecombs. The taste doesnít quite live up to the aroma and there is a little too much bite on the lips. (Note: I drank this in November, about five months after this was bottled. Maybe a fresher bottle would have pushed this IPA into immortality.)

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
22oz bottle in a shaker. Nice hoppy aroma and flavor. Similar notes as the Dreadnaught by Three Floyds, but the texture isnít the same. The hoppiness is very good though.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle thanks to 12many. Hazy yellow pour, thin veil of white foam. Potent mango-pine aroma, classic strong IPA aromas but really on the fruity side. The flavors blend very well, you can certainly feel the bitterness, but there is also a lot of strong sweet fruity flavors to compensate, I got practically no alcohol flavors. Palate is good, a bit slick but very enjoyable nonetheless. Definitely one of the better IIPAs Iíve had.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
Tasted from a bomber bottle purchased at Lush Roscoe. Pours hazy yellow orange with a thick white head that leaves thick lace. The nose is pine resin hops with orange oil, and a cardamom-like spice. The flavor is pine and earthy hops with orange oil, and that same cardamom-like spice. The body is medium with average carbonation and a long bitter and orange oil finish.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle thanks to a buddy in milwaukee. Pour is lightly hazy golden yellow with a small white head. Aroma is mostly resinous hop with a light citrus component as well. Also light pineapple and floral notes with a very subtle malt profile. Flavor is pine and resinous hop with a light malty sweetness that keeps it reasonable. For me, the flavor is cohesive despite the rather bitter hop profile, however it is a bit one dimensional. Solid, but not exceptional.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle at Duncanís Pub. Pours amber with an off white head. Aroma of citrusy hops and honey. Medium bodied with average carbonation, and a very slight syrupy texture. Pale malt and honey backbone, with piney and citrus hops in the forefront. There is definitely some distracting phenols approaching the finish, which is grassy, green, and peppery. This was supposedly a fresh bottle, but this tasted like a 6 month old DIPA. Not really all that great. Nothing close to a fresh Dreadnaught.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
This poured a bright dark yellow to orange with a fluffy wihte head. Aroma was lots and lots of piney hops with some citrus in there as well. Flavor was just loads of uber fresh hops, very piney, but had lots of fruit such as peach and pineapple too. A bit more of a tongue bruiser than Dreadnaught, and less balanced. Excelelnt stuff.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 19/20
UPDATED: JUN 24, 2011 Aroma- Smells like floral citrus appricot. Very light and slightly hopped.
Appearance- Yellowish orange haze, somewhat cloudy, no particulate.
Taste- Ligth and hoppy, hints of appricotts and plum. Some citrus notes.
Palate- thin feel, average carbonation, bitter, light body, no alcohol burn.
Overall- Excellent beer. Very drinkable, wish it was a regular in six packs.
Second time around, still awesome! 06-24-11

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Had this on tap at the Heorot a few days ago and was very impressed! Hazy orange with short white head. Beautiful hoppy nose, just layers and layers of floral hops. Smooth but still extreme bitterness, surprisingly smooth, scrapes the palate to the bone. Hides its alcohol well but man, does it pack a punch. About as good as it gets for a superheavy IPA, will be interested to see if the bottles hold up.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Traded 22oz bottle side-by-side with Yulesmith Summer. Pours a cloudy yellow-gold with a big foamy white head and stringy lacing. Busy aroma with spruce, fir plus a little pine oil and resin. Also some sweeter fruit in the aroma finish. Surprisingly light flavor. Most drinkable DIPA in recent memory. mostly citrus but also bitter with a short finish. Really no big hint of the 9ABV. This was my preferred of the 2 bottles.
