Bottle. thanks Excellent Little Brother! Black with a brown head. Soft chocolate, creamy oatmeal porridge, a little vanilla and some raisins in the nose. Bitter, vanilla, tad bit alcoholic and very velvety taste. Full body, bitter and vanilla finish, fairly carbonated, rich and flavorful.

Sampled at ESBLS. Very dark with a tan ring. An earthy fruity aroma. Gentle. Surprising bitterness here. It is dry. Chocolate under that. Earth and fruit. A rich feel. Interesting.

Pours a dark black, with mid-sized, creamy, lasting head. Aroma of chocolate, coffee, roasted grain. Flavor is strongly redolent of chocolate and coffee, with some licorice and nuts and roasted grain. All right, but nothing too special.

650 ml bottle I received in a Untappd trade. Bottle date of 1/22/2016. Nice full tan head on top this pitch black liquid. Good lace and legs. Aroma is spent coffee grounds, oatmeal flakes, bitter roast.

Base of this stout is bitter roast with notes of oatmeal flakes that give a nice fuller mouthfeel for a under 6 % ABV. The roast element is pretty nice!

Dark cola color, half finger off white head. Smells of light chocolate, some lactic, medicinal, plastic, bandaid. Taste is light as well, some chocolate, nothing too distinguishable, fudge, cocoa, black pepper. Light carbonation, light sweetness, strange for an oatmeal stout. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

A nice smooth oatmeal stout. Slight chocolate notes with hint of grains leaves you wanting more.

Poured into a snifter. 3.25 A: Clear deep brown color. Two fingers of dense frothy tan head. Retention is about average and just a hair width ring of lacing is left. 4.0 S: Great nose on this. Big oat component. Lactose notes like a milk stout. Roasted barley, milk chocolate, and layers of caramel. 3.5 T: Again lots of oats. Big roast with a char component. Less sweet than the nose with less chocolate. Caramel and molasses. 3.0 M: Medium body. Good moderate carbonation. Really lacking in the creaminess department. 3.25 D: Started strong, but didn’t impress in the taste. It’s okay, but there’s much better out there. ★ 643 characters DavoleBomb, Oct 06, 2015
