Black with a faint red highlight. Small tan head. Aroma of dark chocolate and licorice with notes of toffee, dried fruit, alcohol and coffee. Sweetish licorice, chocolate and ashy flavour with lots of hops, and a hint of coffee.

Bottle @ Odense September Tasting, 2012. Thanks to HallingH for sharing. Pours nearly black with a creamy beige head. Sweet nose. Nuts, roast and chocolate. Smooth and full bodied. Oily and slick. A bit of charcoal, coffee and liquorice. Lasting bitter finish. Tasty stuff.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Received from a trade with beersis. Pours jet black with two finger head. Smell is big red fruit, some roast and a subtle chocolate. Taste is smooth chocolate, very thick, some spice and some heat, good lacing. I like this a lot better than straight Dark Lord, I think they did a good job with the blending.

4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Uploading from Beer Buddy App. Notes from memory. Very nicely done, but maybe not as good as its individual components. Lots of alcohol, chocolate and coffee notes. Just didn't seem as special as any of the 4 beers that it was made from, although I've yet to try Black Albert.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Poured a nice black color with minimal head that faded. Had some chocolate, roast and licorice like scents. Taste was rather weird, it had IPA characteristics, hop forward. One of the people I tasted it with had one a few days before and said the two were completely different.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a blackish color, but when held up to the light I can see traces of red around the edges of the glass. Nice khaki colored head consisting of small bubbles on top. Aromas of cappuccino, toffee, roast, anise dominate the nose. This is an aggressive smelling brew. First sip reveals a massive concoction of roast, coffee, liquorish, hops and god knows what else. Massive, I say.
The flavors are so intense you almost forget the alcohol is even there. Almost. There is a slight warming on the finish to remind you that you are actually, in fact, ballin’. In fact, the buzz hits quick and hard, with little time to let you get adjusted to it. It’s like I just did a shot of vodka or something, after just a few sips. Ballin’.
So, to sum it up, this is a massive beer with flavors all over the board. Roast, coffee, anise, hops, alcohol. Massive, I say.

2012-08-18. Black body with a nice tan head. 4+ Modest aroma, sweet dark malt, chocolate whispers, mild fruit character. 7++ Dark malt flavour, sweet malty core, very very light roast and cocoa dryness in the finish. 7+ Very smooth medium palate. 3+ Not super complex but a very solid stout. 4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Rating #2000. The aroma is really nice: dark chocolate, licorice, smooth coffee, molasses. The appearance is jet black, light tan head. The flavor is dark chocolate, little sweeter than the aroma suggests, cream, licorice, molasses, coffee, some pine needles. The finish is piney hops, bitter chocolate, roast (the coffee mostly comes out here.) Thick, chewy in body. Very nicely done, although not as good as any of the beers from which it is made. Excellent overall.
