Bomber. Black with tan head. Aroma is roast, some chocolate, faint coffee. Flavor is a mess--dark fruit, chocolate, and coffee, but no smooth progression of flavors: just an immediate assault of all of this. Finish is long and almost hoppy--not sure where that’s coming from. Not bad, but not as good as any of the individual parts. Certainly not a top notch stout.

how the hell could i give this anything other than the rating I gave it. I thin kthe only thing that threw me for a loop was the heavy belgium qualities. Otherwise...it’s baller. Four amazing beers made this a great brew.

Rando7 (736) - Iowa, USA - MAY 27, 2012
Bottle pours black with brown head. Aroma unexpectedly hoppy, not sure where they came from, also the expected roast and caramel. Taste sweet, roasty, cocoa, coffee, molasses, oak. Able to pick out elements of the individual beers. Thick full palate. Alcohol apparent. Bittersweet finish with roast and dark malts.

The combination works well

Bottle shared with Vinny, pat and Simon. Pours a pitch black body with thin brown lacing. Aroma is sweet chocolate, brown sugar, light oak, blueberry, other dark fruit, and a nice earthy hop profile. Mouthfeel is smooth and rich with notes of molasses, chocolate, sweet oak, vanilla, toffee, dark fruit, floral hops and an earthy roast.

Dfonorow (1440) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAY 27, 2012
The pour is jet black with a finger wide dark tan head. The aroma is extremely sweet with notes of dark chocolate, roasted bitter coffee, vanilla extract, and oak. The flavor is mellowed out compared to the aroma but still has the same profile. It seems like the Darkness actually shines through the most out of all the blends. Its not overly sweet like the Dark Lord tends to be and its missing a lot of the unique flavors of the Black Albert and Beer Geek Brunch. Overall it works decently well and is worth a try if you can get a hold of it.

Marsiblursi (3005) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - MAY 26, 2012
(Bottle) Pours black with light brown head. The aroma holds liquorice, caramel, dark chocolate, coffee, dark fruits, light fruits, light esters, spicy brown sugar, molasses, berry jam, vanilla and light coconut milk alongside woodsy, floral, “green” and light earthy hops. Balanced nose. The flavour is medium sweet, medium bitter and light acidic with notes of robust creamy chocolate, vanilla, mild coffee, blueberry jam and fruity, resinous and “green” hops. The mouthfeel is round soft, velvet and smooth with a light carbonation. Soft roasted, fruity and “green” finish. Medium to full bodied. Balanced, maybe not mega complex but super tasty.
