Bottle thx to benzai @ home. Pitch black colour with a beige to light brown head. Smells roastu, coffee, malts, some dark chocolate, liquorice wood, sweet, brown sugar. Tastes dark chocolate, sweet, roasty, raisins, some coffee but not much. Great taste but not the best of the best. Full body, nice fitting carbo.

UPDATED: NOV 7, 2012 Bottle shared by Hiero816pack. Pours black brown with a tan head. Aroma has chocolate malt yeast and bitterness and solid roasted malt as well. Taste is more the same with a nice chocolate roasted malt and coffee and subtle yeast character. Palate is full and creamy with a drying finish. Enjoyable, but I enjoy them separate!

Received in a trade but I forget who was awesome enough to send me this bottle. I’ll update if I remember. Either way, thanks alot! This bottle was shared with AndyReynolds and Ewestern.
I had read many mixed reviews before acquiring this bottle, so I wasn’t too sure what to expect going into it. However, it took nothing more than the first sip to shatter the idea of any negativity surrounding this brew. Pretty much straight up awesome in every aspect. The combination of the four base stouts really lends to a unique complexity. I know it doesn’t contain any Kate the Great, but as I drank my glass, that’s what it really reminded me of. It seemed to have a lot of that chocolate graham cracker and roasted malt quality that I remember from my KtG sample a few years ago.

I fell victim to the hype and love this beer.

Sample had the FFF Anniversary Party. Served in a plastic sampling cup. A: Very dark black with a tan head. Splotchy lace is left down the cup. S: Sweetness with toasted malts and some chocolate fill the nose. Nothing special. T: Taste is much more complex than the nose. Roasted malts, dark chocolate. Slight bitter coffee grounds with some nice dark fruits (figs and dates mostly). There is a little booze on the backend with a touch of heat. M: Heavy bodied with a viscous coating quality to it. Good carbonation. O: Tasted like a blend of Darkness and Dark Lord. I haven’t had Black Albert, but I can’t imagine it added anything substantial to this. It tasted good, but it wasn’t mind blowing. Bottle at Kingcecils Birthday Tasting. Pours jet black with a medium beige head. The aroma is port, ripe fruit, toasted caramel, light chocolate, hard roasted malt and a great load of hops to balance it. The flavour is intense. Loads of coffee, ripe fruit, hard roasted malt, chocolate and some liquorice. Wow!!

Bottle. Pours a pitch black color with a tan head. Aroma is of coffee, roasted malt, dark chocolate, some almost grassy juicy hop notes, toffee, dark caramel, dark fruits, tobacco and liquorice. Flavor follows the nose and has a nice balance between sweetness and roast, I get lots of coffee, roasted malt, almost grassy juicy hop notes, toffee, dark chocolate, dark caramel, dark fruits, liquorice and tobacco. The body is full with a viscous mouth feel. Overall a pretty nice blended brew, and the age has done it well. I think I prefer the different beers on their own though.
