3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Snifter. Aroma is big time chocolate. Light coffee, some anise, and roasted notes are there. Chocolate dominates. Flavor is all chocolate and roast. Not as sweet as I thought it would be. Great stuff.

I never thought I’d get to try this one - thank you, OmegaX. The pour was and oily black and had aromas reminiscent of tobacco, chocolate covered raisins and coffee. This was a very filling brew with a strong roasted malt presence, and only the smooth chocolate body sort-of balancing it. I can dig it, especially given the strength.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle from MeadMe, thank you so much for the opportunity!
Pours a solid black color with a huge tan head that persists forever. Aromas of dark fruit with a hint of lactic, roast, chocolate, molasses, brown sugar, caramel, and earth. The flavor is big and sweet with lots of brown sugar and caramel. Bits of dark chocolate, smoke, dark fruits, and earth. Thick viscous body with a low level of carbonation and a thick syrupy creamy mouthfeel. This is one big thick sweet and sticky stout. I enjoyed sipping on this for most of the night.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
660 ml bottle - tasted at pre-BBF13. Pours intense dark with a medium head yet quickly dissapearing. Aroma of cedar, cigares and the typical Dark Lord molasses. The body is full nd rich with nice hopiness (I guess that is the European stouts kicking through). Taste is a bit of metal and candi syrup. Taste is more interesting than the aromas but DL is too persisting in this one.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours dark with a bubbly and sticky head. The aroma is of coffee, mild level of roasted malts, carmel malts, numerous other dark malts, cocoa notes, and a mild booze. In the flavor I picked up on bitter cocoa, mild bitter coffee, roasted malts, medium level of carmel malts, slight dryness, and a stale but complex old hop undertone. Overall this was surprisingly drinkable and pleasant to ones’ pallet. It’s worth obtaining.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours out a burnt mahogany, medium body stout with fast dissipating tan head. Aromas of coffee, sweet smoke, tobacco, bitter coffee and more smoked malt. Flavor is sweet, round with a full oat body but thin and bitter to the palate. Finish is long and bitter engulfing the entire top half of your palate. Dominant players here are the DL (go figure) and beer geek brunch. Just about as bad as DL. barrel age it and you’ll have a winner!

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle via queenholly. Pours a dark brown black little but of tan head. Aroma confusing. Yeasty notes, roasty, bourbon, wood. Body rich, thick, sweet, finish sweet vanilla notes very little warming for ABV.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Taster from a bottle shared at Natifest 2013. Very dark brown color. Nice thin light brown head. Good dots and short ropes of lace. Lightly chewy, bigger body. Dry finish. Light carbonation. Amazing for 14%... So much less noticeable alcohol taste than Dark Lord, I think this is way better, really. Way more good big dark roast, coffee, dark chocolate flavors. Nearly burnt, but I love the big roast. So amazing for 14%, don’t really get any hint of the alcohol. No sweet or warmth. Loved this, way more my style.

Bottle shared at natifest. Pours a date brown to black with a khaki colored head of foam. The aroma has figs and raisins over top of a licorice and dark coffee. I get a little bit of peanut butter and pistachio as well. The taste is a fairly dark sweet. Very nice.
