4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bomber: Shared with Iluvatarmilan: Served in a Chouffe glass at 13 degrees Celsius:
Black beer with a medium sized beige brown head.
Aroma is just like a BIPA and some slight butterscotch hints.
Flavours of deep dark roast, soy, bitters, mocha, dark chocolate, some liquorice, chalk, cacoa, some hops, quite refreshing for an Imperial Stout!
Aftertaste is a mix of liquorice, roast, dark chocolate, hops, bitters..
Low carbo, creamy mouthfeel, close to full bodied.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Astonishing beer, which is little surprise considering its components. Depth, strength, hoppiness, chocolate, coffee. Grains. Mutes the considerable abv amazingly well.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Deep black pour with no head. Aroma of sweet sugar, a lot like Dark Lord in the aroma. Taste is explosion of bitterness and sweet that play on each other nicely. I can taste elements of all 4 beers. Bitter coffee, sweet toffee, candy & roast. Huge chewy mouth. Very interesting and also tasty.

Bottle share at Craft Beer Co, Clerkenwell on 30 Jun 2012. Poured black, with a thin tan head. Aroma of dark chocolate, liquorice and alcohol soaked dark fruits. Thick, full mouthfeel. Strong flavours of coffee, treacle and some smokiness. Finish was dates, burnt malt, cocoa and port.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Are these blends a bit gimmicky? I don’t care - i bought into the hype. Great mix here with lots of dark fruit, booziness and some faint cocoa notes. A lot of licorice here which I wasn’t expecting. It’s held up well though.

Pours black with a big beautiful brown head. Aroma of dark chocolate, roast, coffee and espresso. Lovely to taste that Dark Lord is not overwhelming all other beers, nice balance. Sweet from Dark Lord, coffee from Beer Geek Brunch. Lovely stuff. Maybe the alcohol is a bit too present.
