3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours out a burnt mahogany, medium body stout with fast dissipating tan head. Aromas of coffee, sweet smoke, tobacco, bitter coffee and more smoked malt. Flavor is sweet, round with a full oat body but thin and bitter to the palate. Finish is long and bitter engulfing the entire top half of your palate. Dominant players here are the DL (go figure) and beer geek brunch. Just about as bad as DL. barrel age it and youíll have a winner!

Lets go to the Jockey Box
Fredís Softball, shared by friend, not in dining room, for make the taste!
Pours black with a good head and decent lacing on the glass.
The aroma offers a bunch of stuff, raisins, chocolate, port wine, rum... booziness. It works together nicely for sure.
The flavor offers sweetness & richness with a low level of bitterness. Most bitterness offered comes in the form of roasty malt and coffee character both of which are modest players in the ball game. Itís chocolaty, itís got a lot of dark fruit and a good bit of booziness.
My review makes it sound like I donít like it, which isnít true at all. Itís huge, and itís fun, not sure Iíd want a lot of it... but I sure do like it real good.

Bomber: Shared with Iluvatarmilan: Served in a Chouffe glass at 13 degrees Celsius:
Black beer with a medium sized beige brown head.
Aroma is just like a BIPA and some slight butterscotch hints.
Flavours of deep dark roast, soy, bitters, mocha, dark chocolate, some liquorice, chalk, cacoa, some hops, quite refreshing for an Imperial Stout!
Aftertaste is a mix of liquorice, roast, dark chocolate, hops, bitters..
Low carbo, creamy mouthfeel, close to full bodied.

Astonishing beer, which is little surprise considering its components. Depth, strength, hoppiness, chocolate, coffee. Grains. Mutes the considerable abv amazingly well.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Deep black pour with no head. Aroma of sweet sugar, a lot like Dark Lord in the aroma. Taste is explosion of bitterness and sweet that play on each other nicely. I can taste elements of all 4 beers. Bitter coffee, sweet toffee, candy & roast. Huge chewy mouth. Very interesting and also tasty.

Are these blends a bit gimmicky? I donít care - i bought into the hype. Great mix here with lots of dark fruit, booziness and some faint cocoa notes. A lot of licorice here which I wasnít expecting. Itís held up well though.
