23rd September 2012 Opaque black - brown beer. Tidy tan head. Light bourbon nose. Palate is crispy and fresh. Minerals. Bourbon! Smooth and a little tangy. Mild dark malts underneath. Touch of fruit as well but not really getting a clear plum from this. Smooth finish and a smooth beer.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 gEUS (587) - Linden, BELGIUM - MAY 17, 2013
660 ml bottle - shared by Dennoman at the DL Vertical Tasting at the Cellar of Chez Moeder Lambic Saint-Gilles - thx man!. Taken from notes. Pours deep brown, no head. Typical 3 Floyds molasses aroma, some coffee, little fruity acidity. But all in all, quite unbalanced.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 dimenhetfield (2354) - , Florida, USA - MAY 12, 2013
Thanks to Randy and JR for breaking this one out. Opened right after the BA Cherries, this one had a ton more fruit qualities. This one just seemed to have better balance between the bourbon and the fruit qualities of the plums.
4.3 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 beernbourbon (1148) - St. Louis, Missouri, USA - MAR 30, 2013
Bottle. Pour is dark brown with a thin tan head. Aroma fills the room with loads of brandy, light fruit, roasted malt, and light vanilla. Flavor is brandy, light vanilla, light wood, dark fruit, lots of dark roasted caramel. Really nice. I like this a lot.
3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Treebs (733) - , Illinois, USA - MAR 10, 2013
750 ml bottle served in a Southern Tier tulip. Bottle # 79/391.
A: Pours a dark black color with some lighter brown edges. A light khaki head forms on the pour and recedes to a thin ring. Some splotches of lace are left down the glass.
S: Roasted malts with a bit of the barrel. Mild bourbon with light oak. Some fruity plum sweetness with a little chocolate malt.
T: As with other BA FFF offerings there is some mild acetone notes, but this is the least offensive amount I’ve come across so far. Nice roasted malt presence with some light chocolate. Trace amounts of bourbon.
M: Medium thin bodied with a medium low carb. Sweet finish.
O: This was alright. As with all the other BA Alpha Klauses the base was overwhelmed and the barrel seemed kind of mute as well.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 phaleslu (4451) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - SEP 4, 2012
750 ml bottle shared by birchstick- thanks again, Jonathan! Bottle 108/391. Pours a super deep amber color with a small tan head. Massive aroma of bourbon, vanilla, plums, brown sugar, chocolate, and sweet bread. The plums come across like sour mash and give just a faint bit of tartness to complement the sweetness. The flavor has more plum, with fruitcake, berries, coconut, vanilla, caramel, oak, and bourbon. Medium-bodied, with a sweet, juicy, boozy mouthfeel and moderate carbonation. So underrated. This is awesome.
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 womencantsail (6896) - Garbage Grove, California, USA - AUG 20, 2012
The pour is a murky dark brown/black color with a khaki head. The booziness is really overwhelming. Tons of oak, roasted malt, and a pronounced acidity. Mild plum, a touch of solvent, and plenty of green apple. Tastes of roast, alcohol, green apple, and bourbon. A fair amount of acidity, mild to moderate caramel/toffee sweetness, some raisins, plums, and cherries. Kind of sour on the finish.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 burg326 (2326) - Florida, USA - AUG 12, 2012
Bottle shared at Matt’s tasting, poured a black color witth aromas of light coconut, chocolate, booze, light plum, and some roast. Flavors follow suit, not as boozy as the aroma suggests, light sweetness in the aftertaste.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 holdenn (2023) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JUL 26, 2012
Bottle shared thanks to Adam at DLD ’12. Black pour with a thin head. Plum dark fruit aroma along side some roast. Some tart dark fruit flavors. There seems to be a lot of plum and dark cherries with some booze and roast. The hops are long gone but this is a pretty decent beer. Boozey but solid. 8/3/8/3/15
