COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Alpha Klaus is Alpha King’s cousin. A big American X-mas Porter brewed with English chocolate malt and Mexican sugar and of course tons of strange American hops! Cheers.

Aged in oak barrels.

Bottle, huge thanx to Kermis for sharing this one! Pours a jet black colour with a two finger, tanned head. Aroma is full of bourbon, oak and dark fruits. Flavour is really sweet, missing some roasted notes, but not disturbing at all. The bourbon is really present in the flavour and it has a cloying, thick mouthfeel. One to enjoy for sure!

Opaque black color with a tan head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of spicy rye, vanilla, roasted malts, charred wood, and bourbony alcohol. Taste of roast, vanilla, spicy rye, smoke, pine, tobacco, dark chocolate, and a smooth, creamy finish.

750 ml bottle. Bottle 205/423. Dark brown pour with coffee colored head. Aroma of strong bourbon. Vanilla, wood, oak and mild booze. I also get notes of licorice, some cookie dough. Flavor of strong bourbon, rich chocolate. Nice, mild dryness. Very smooth and rich. Notes of chocolate, bourbon, vanilla, oak. The alpha Klaus base stands up well to the barrel. Quite a nice beer.

This poured a darker brown color with a lighter tan head. Aroma was of lots of smooth bourbon notes, good amount of oak and vanilla,a nd light chocolate. Flavor was very very smooth bourbon and chocolate melding together, some dark fruits too. Only complaint is the base beer does not come throguh very much at all, and all the hoppy goodness of regulat Alpha Klaus is missing.

Bottle... This beer rocks!… Pours dark brown (almost black) with a small, creamy, lightly-tanned head. The nose is a medley of cola, coconut and toasted oak. Medium-bodied with soft carbonation. The flavor is heavily roasted and offers a decadent blend of sweet fudge, toasted coconut and bourbon. Finishes sweet and chocolaty. Kudos to landhoney for landing and sharing this world class bottle of beer!

Pours unclear black coffee in color with a small grayish tan head. The aroma brings some boozy oak barrel notes, not quite vanilla, soft sweetness. There are sweet whiskey notes, so smooth, with lighter roastiness and a chocolatey coffee ending. The bitterness is so subtle and works so well.

750 ml bottle 124/423, purchased at the second brewpub only DLD ticket sales session. Intermingled aromas of chocolate, nuts, resin, leather, alcohol, vanilla, and oak keep filling my nostrils. It’s color is dark brown, but translucent on the edges. The head is frothy and tan, disappearing completely within minutes. While the taste reflects the aroma, it is not nearly as enjoyable or complex. Some initial sweetness that gives way to light bitterness and an little sting from the bourbon barrel. Oddly reminiscent of Oak Aged Yeti, despite being different base styles. Its body is medium, with a sticky texture, surprisingly lively carbonation, and a long bittersweet finish. This ale really opened up as it warmed, and the lively carbonation enhanced its enjoy-ability. While I generally enjoy the BBA Russian Imperial Stouts most, this is the best 7.5% ABV BBA beer I’ve tasted.
