750mL waxed shared at Woodshop 8. Pours a clear deep cola brown with healthy foam. Nose is big tomato paste style bourbon barrel. Taste is thin, dusty, no cherry character. Palate is weak, especially for abv and style.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma of caramel, licorice, cherry, coconut and oak, with alcohol that reminds me of highland whisky. Sweet and a little tart, mild roasted flavour with oak, cherry and alcohol

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle shared at Great Taste ticket line (Madison, WI). Pours a rich blackish hue, darker black body with good haziness. Some brownish dark glow on the edges. Not thick but dark and near opaque overall. A frothy tannish head atop dies to a firm film, laces well. Aromas are good touches of whiskey, vanilla, and some dry earthy hops, mellow toast and biscuit. Some gentle cherryskin and fruit compliments, with touches of sweetness, tart, and dry earthy hops meet barrel tannins. Almost a touch of dryhopping. Initial is medium bodied, a bit thinned out with some nice dryness, toast, and roast. Firm mellow died out hopping meets gentle cherry, medium spirit hits the palate as we move on. Spirit, whiskey, mellow yet growing heat as we round the corner. Wet oak, a touch hot. The cherries hit in the middle then give way to that barrel. A touch thin now to support that backend turn. Gentle cherryskin, spirit, dryness and roast. A touch smokey and earthy, lingering roast, barrel presence and mellow warm spirit. Itís not a bad beer, itís just a bit thin and oddly suited for the barrel. The cherry is mellow, never gets medicinal but really disappears into the backend and finish. Firmer dryness, a touch thin overall. A touch hot in certain jabs. Pretty pour, good nose, some good flavors but a bit off for experoence/synergy/balance. The smokey element works well with the barrel, but itís just a bit too thin to make it a winner. Solid and interesting.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle shared at GTMW line, thanks Adam! Pours black with a thin tan head and some lacing in the glass, the aroma is of more chocolate than anything, a little bit of the cherry comes through on the nose with the oak as well, the flavor has a cherry front end with some malt and chocolate in the finish, the cherry doesnít overpower it but doesnít really help it at the same time, mouthfeel was nice at least, kind of different.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle pour, dark with tan head. Smell is bourbon, tobacco, and cherries. The beer is extremely smooth on taste, and the cherries come through quite a bit, not quite as much as Cherry Rye. Thereís a bit of Vanilla on the taste and the dryness of the stout adds an interesting quality with the barrel aging. One of the best BA offerings Iíve had from Floyds.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
750 ml waxed bottle served in a CCB snifter.
A: Pours a solid black color with a some semi-clear brown highlights around the edges. A thin tan head forms on the pour and recedes quickly to a thin ring. No lace.
S: Semi-tart cherries with a little acetone/nail polish remover to it. Light roast with a little chocolate, but no real detection of barrel.
T: Cherries again, but more sweet than tart. The roast is present and the bourbon finally comes out a little in the taste. A little oak mixed with some dark chocolate malts.
M: Medium to light bodied with a medium carbonation level. Slightly oily mouthfeel.
O: This was ok. Not really terrible, but a little thin overall. Wouldnít seek this out again.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from brew pub. Poured black with little head. Aroma and taste both dominated by barrel and cherries. Tasty, but base beer never really makes an appearance until a slight roasted malt note at the very back end. Similar to Cabra in that regard.
