The pour is a hazy golden straw color with a thin white head. The nose on this beer is awful. Sawdust and cardboard overpower the nose. Light lemon peel, maybe some oak, heavy on the bandaids, and a bit of dirt are there for good measure. The flavor has a subtle tartness, a bit of water, and huge cardboard and sawdust notes. Some bandaid, musty oak, lemon peel, and that might be about it. I tried to forget...

Bottle shared at Natifest 13. Poured a cloudy golden color with a mostly lasted fizzy white head that mostly lasted with excellent lacing. Moderate to heavy sour citrus and sour yeast aroma. Medium to abundant body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy sour & bittersweet flavor with a medium to heavy bittersweet & sour fruit finish of moderate to long duration. This is a solid beer for style.

A hazed golden ale with a thick collapsing white head. In aroma, a nice sour ale with lactic acid, black pepper, Epsom salts. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity malt with lactic notes, Brett, decent. Xmas Ottawa gathering Dec 13 2013.

Bottle shared by Adam, thanks! Pours a hazy orange gold with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of light Brett with a hint of dry wine and plastic. Flavor has a good amount of breat and wine upfront but finish has a good amount of plastic.

750 ml bottle shared by JStax- thanks again, Jeremy! Bottle 188/480. Pours a hazed orange-gold with a small white head. Aroma of Bretty funk, floral notes, citrus- mostly orange, tropical fruits, sweet malts- so far, so good. The flavor pretty much offers more of the same. Plenty of funk, florals, and citrus peel. A bit of basement/cobweb mustiness. Wine barrel character is subtle. The fruit and sourness are very subdued here. Light-bodied, with a dry mouthfeel and moderate carbonation. This beer is unfairly maligned. The only knock I could understand is that it seems restrained, but given other FFF sours that haven’t turned out well, that seems like a welcome characteristic.

Taster from a bottle shared at Natifest 2013. Thanks to Jstax, bottle 188/480. Hazy orange amber color. Little off-white head. Smooth, soft carbonation of moderate strength. Dry finish. Good bigger tart taste. Some [grainy], farmhouse aromas. Light lemon citrus. I like this one.

TheAlum (5721) - Aurora, Illinois, USA - FEB 1, 2013
750 ml bottle picked up from the brewery (Munster, IN). Pours a hazy golden amber hue, light hued edges and a well hazed body overall. Frothy whitish head atop dies to a film, laces well. Richer vibrant fruity and hoppy nose, oak and plastic. Some vanilla, barnyard, and melon, tangerine, more plastic. Some funk, cobwebs. Initial is a bit more odd and perplexing, rich bitter and bretty elements play on the palate. A bit tart into the backend, I get plastic, cobwebs, dust, and basement. Some bready malts, the hops are bitter but lose some of the flavor, still a push of grapefruit and rind, lemony elements. A touch more oak, more brett, cobwebs, and soft cheese. Plastic. Overall, it’s a bit messy. An odd beer.

b3shine (5492) - Indiana, USA - AUG 3, 2013
Bomber to taster at NatiFest (thanks JStax). Looks solid; a semi-transparent orange with white lacing. Smells wild with a fairly sweet backbone. Tastes like it smells with an average mouthfeel. All brett and no lacto or pedio.

75cl, Bottle 26/480, no mention of ABV, new exclusive American brew Anno 2012, with Brettanomyces, thx alot to rfraga7!, complex brew, woody/fruity and slightly bitter/vinous, not too heavy, yet not balanced, cloudy, good head, good brew

Boutip (4738) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - FEB 17, 2014
Bottle: Poured a deep golden/amber color ale with a large foamy head with limited retention and some light lacing. Aroma of sour notes with light acidic edge and some dry Brett notes. Taste is also dominated by sour and tart notes with an acidic edge with some lactic sour notes and a dry Brett finish. The vinous and/or hoppy notes are not easily identifiable. Body is light with good carbonation. Decent but really doesn’t stand out from the pack of new sour ales that are coming out.
