On tap at 3F. Pours an auburn color with no head. Aroma is molasses and malts. Taste is pleasantly sweet and hides the ABV well. Palate is well balanced with subtle hints of sugar, malts and molasses. One of the better barleywines I have had.

Bottle shared by dodgrblu at california 10k event. Poured ruby red with big hop aroma. Taste was slightly roasted with a big hop finish. Excellent

Rerateed 26.02.2014, 0,65l bottle (blue wax, blood fresh 2014 edition) sampled @ MAD Beer Brewing release @ Mielcke & Hurtigkarl:
Small slightly bubbly mediumlasting head. Aroma is slightly fresh fruity, hop pellets, newly cut lawn, leafs, citrus peel, hints of pine needles. Taste is slightly concentrated fresh grassy, hop pellets, leafs, grass, pine needles, caramel malts, sap, dried fruits. Medium to longlasting bitterness, slightly dry mouthfeel. Nice enough, way too fresh for a barleywine, and maybe more in the triple IPA direction as it is now. (Rerated from 11.05.2012, tap @ CBC).

2014 bottle. Orange-amber pour with a white head. Malt-heavy aroma with sweet caramel, orange peel, and a bit of oak. Awesome sweet boozy taste of smooth caramel, oak resin, light citrus, some toffee, and a solid amount of both piney and earthy hops. Great sticky texture. A top-flight barleywine.

2014 I am not one to normally drink barley-wine style beers, but this was a treat. Not overly sweet, with a nice balance of malt and surprisingly hops. A beer to try. Nicely done FFF.

2014 blue wax that had me thinking this bottle was 4 years old, still excellent though. Malty, alcohol aroma. Hazy amber color. Taste is sweet, caramel malt with a nice hops bitterness. Extremely well balanced and very easy-drinking for such a high ABV. Beyond excellent.

Thank you highwine! Pours a hazy amber thin white head. Malty caramel swamp alcohol aroma. Big malty caramel brown sugar and molasses taste with a bitter dry finish that lingers. Medium body light to medium carbonation. Wish I shared the bottle but fk it.

(bottle - 22 oz) Cloudy copper pour. Surprisingly hoppy aroma. Tons of citrus notes in it as well. Flavor is malty, naturally, and very hoppy which was quite surprising. Not so much a barley wine as it was a really big Imperial IPA almost. I’m curious to see what age does to it.

2013 bottle. Dark reddish orange with a white head. huge citrus hop, grapefruit and malt in the nose and on the palate. Sweet and super hoppy. Like a malty triple IPA almost. I hate barleywine but I will definitely be drinking this again
