Just had this on tap at FFF, this could possibly be the best beer I have ever had in my entire life. This almost tastes more similar to a Double IPA with huge body than a barleywine due to the immense hops. Wonderful fresh hop tastes with no bitterness. Not enought can be said about this beer --- PERFECT! 2008 release/purple wax

Wonderful aroma of sweet malt, lightly roasted raisin, cinnamon rolls, and bread. Brownish amber color with thick off white head. Rich and smooth flavors. Figs, raisins, malt, banana bread, salt, and tobacco. Dries out a bit on the finish. Well balanced. Very creamy palate, rich, sweet, buttery, and lightly bitter to balance. Very good and very dangerous. It would be easy to drink this deceivingly strong brew into an early evening faceplant.

Fresh on tap at FFF pub. Pours a lovely caramel orange hue that is perfect with it’s thin tannish head. Beautiful lacing left on the snifter as you drink this wonder. Big fresh citrus nose, some pine, obviously very fresh hop sharacter. Mouthfeel is creamy, almost chewy and so enjoyable. Flavor is dominated my clean citrus flavos that finish with a lingering pine quuality. This is still a little young and you can taste some plant matter from the hops, but that only tells me how fresh and lovely this is. Will get better with age to be sure.

Very nice. Cloudy amber pour. This was a 2007 release. Nose very loud with citrus. Taste is complex with citrus hops, caramel and dark fruits. Good drink for a winter night.

Sample @ Coles Barleywine festival courtesy of Rudolf. Pours a nice ruby copper color. Sweet nose with alcohol, toffee & caramel sweetness, orange citrus, brown sugar. Nice balance with slight alcohol burn in the finish. Medium FFF citrusy hop presnce. Thanks Rudy

I enjoyed this, but was underwhelmed. It had that great 3F orange, citrus, hops character and the potent fruity malts were there but overall it just did not stand out from many other barleywines to me. Solid, not spectacular barleywine.
