| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | May 28, 2007 Medium reddish color with virtually no head. Flavors are of orange peel, sweet malt, and a touch of alcohol. The flavor starts of sweet and fruity but ends almost too bitter with intense hops and alcohol. If it was balanced better I would have enjoyed this much more... Overall it is good but surely not worth the price - worth trying once but still a bit much. riversideAK (2670), Shoreline, Washington, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | May 25, 2007 An aroma blast of molasses, dried fruit, pine, alcohol, cinnamon, and more. Pours a ruddy reddish orange with a small off white head. Flavor is mostly a malt explosion. Dried fruit, heavy syruppy molasses, then a nice piney hoppiness. Heavy dry mouthfeel, sweet and coaty. This is a complex brew. This is a nice brew. It better be since I spent $24 on it. Three Floyds in your face! hopslovin (180), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA

Nose of caramel, grapefruit, fir and pepper. Very flavorful; caramel, grapefruit, lemon, florals and hops. Chewy mouthfeel with a long slightly sour finish. Nicely balanced and quite tasty. Rating #700 - thx hunnies! (Song: Roll out the barrel) Nephilium (547), Ohio, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 21, 2007 From 2007 bottle. Pours a cloudy amber, reminding me of apple cider, no head to be seen. Strong fruit aroma, with underlying sweetness. Fairly thin mouthfeel, sweet fruity flavor with strong hints of alcohol with a long bitter finish. At this point, it seems vastly overrated and overpriced. I’ll see how the one that I’ve got in the cellar ages and revisit it in a year or so. Hopefully it matures into something much better, or else I’ll stick to more reasonably priced, better barleywines. cmr1517 (35), New Haven, Indiana, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | May 21, 2007 Poured a deep reddish copper with a white head. I could smell lots of fruit and citrus. Tasting this beer gave me a new found sense of a great barley wine. With its huge flavor came a sting leaving me with numbness to my mouth. Not as bad as it sounds though. Smell of hops, spice, prunes, rasins, copper, touch of pine, grass, nuts, caramel, honey, wood and some citrus. Taste of everything I mentioned plus cinamon, rye, orange peal and alcohol. What a great BW! I love it!
