Thanks to Sprinkle (Crown LIqour). Nice brown in color with little to no head. Very inviting hops and malt smell. Taste is very smooth, one of the smoothest beers I’ve tasted. Also some nice hops and caramel in here are dominant. Little to no carbination in this beer. I need to move to a sate that I can have FFF at hand at all times.

Light copper, with white head, intense grapefruit/pine aroma, taste is smooth and citrus with alcohol prescence. Could drink many of these 22’s except the price was rediculous, ($19.99 for a bomber?!!!!) Looks like most of the money went into the lovely packaging and makersmark syle wax dip. Me being an automatic shirt printer would love to do that logo on a tye dye or lavender long sleeve, but the price is rediculous. Hell 13.99 for a six of expedition seems like a bargain compared to this....

Bottle: Pours a nice dark amber color with a pretty solid, slightly off white head. I definitely smell a lot of hop profile, grapefruit and one. Taste is pretty nice. The alcohol can be tasted pretty easily in this one, with some pine and grapefruit flavors.. I also notice just a bit of caramel that kind of creeps up out of the background. This one is pretty tasy and it’s my 200th. I, however, should have listened t the commercial description and aged this one until fall of 2007. It definitely needs some age.

2006 bottle. Pours a maroon red with gold and orange on the edges and a straw color head. It looks royal in the glass. The aroma is a fresh and sharp hop character. Strong pine and grapefruit hops. The flavor is a thick and powerful mix of strong citrus and coniferous forest hops along with carmel based malt sweetness, and a tingle of alcohol. Bonus points for hiding the alcohol to the point that they did. Doesn’t seem to be a 12% beer. A strawberry flavor peaks through the bitterness for a moment and contributes to the sweetness. A truly great feel and finish. the mouth tingles with the grapefruit bitterness and touch of alcohol while the tongue is bathed in a velvet smooth sweet full experience. Great after a few months, I can’t wait to try it after a year or two on it.

#200!! Pours a deep copper amber color with a white head. Aroma is of nice malts, caramel and lots of hops. Bitter grassy citrus hops. Flavor is nice deep malts with a long bitter hop finish. The alcohol peaks through a little after it warms up. Good barleywine want to see what this one is like with some age one it.

2005 bomber. Poured a murky, rather evil shade of coppery/amber with some rising bubbles and a dusting of tan head. The nose was to die for! From across the room I could discern rich, partially-oxidized and rum-laced dark fruits, drawn and mildly toasted caramel, oak, some herbs, and somehow-still-aggressive grapefruit and pine hoppage... as I approached said beer, the intensity made the eyes water just a little... more of everything, and still just brilliant!
The flavor was damn close to the aroma!.. slowly and methodically moving its way across the palate and tickling all necessary taste buds... toasty caramel, grapefruit, and toffee core supports spicy herbal, grapefruit, and pine bitterness with alcohol enhancement... drier on the back end with some oxidized notes and a bit of floral. Long, warm, sticky finish of spicy alcohol and burnt caramel. Fantastic!

Very strong hoppy nose with a sweet caramel and raisin aroma. Cloudy dull orange in color with a white head that falls fast. Very thick texture that smuggles in a ton of alochol without much showing through. Sweet dried fruity flavor, raisin is very strong along with some dried apricot flavors and big caramel malt taste. The hops kick arse in the finish with a crisp citrus kick. Damn good brew, but even after 1 year it could use a few more, this one is made to last. Thanks to steve for this brew.
