Huge sweet body, big flavors and high alcohol levels, this beer is best enjoyed by a raging fire. Bottle. Clear amber colour with medium creamy white mostly lasting head. Very nice complex aroma. Sweet fruity flavor. Bitter finish. Creamy palate.

Amber and a bit unclear. Has an off-white head, mostly lasting. Aroma of sweet malt, pure grain, faint sulfor, citrus, coco-nut. Flavor is heavy to harsh sweet, balanced with faint bitterness. Syrupy texture. Warming alcohol.

Bottle. Nice head with good duration. Color is amber. Aroma and taste are fruits, caramel, yeast and caramel. Vinous.

’08 purple wax. huge waxy malt/bitter choc. very english-like on nosing. intense sweetish malt up front,that dry’s out nicely on finish. balance is good for such a huge beer. wanted to find something wrong with this brew, but in all honesty, i couldn’t. DAMN GOOD

2009 bottle brought by buddy, copper pour little foam. nose is sweet malts big booze and some hops for balance so so well balanced was prob one of my fav barelywines. intrested to see what happens to my other 2 as they age

Clear amber pour, off-white head. The nose is very hoppy, citrusy, with caramel and fruit. The flavor is grapefruit, caramel, light fruit. Wierd. this is more like an IPA than a BW. A very good IPA, but an IPA none the less. The finish is again a citrus hop bittering, residual fruity sweetness. Nice thick syrupy mouthfeel. VERY enjoyable beer, but not my favorite BW. I tend to like my barley wines to be darker, thicker, more fruity, less hoppy.
