| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 5, 2009 Clear amber pour, off-white head. The nose is very hoppy, citrusy, with caramel and fruit. The flavor is grapefruit, caramel, light fruit. Wierd. this is more like an IPA than a BW. A very good IPA, but an IPA none the less. The finish is again a citrus hop bittering, residual fruity sweetness. Nice thick syrupy mouthfeel. VERY enjoyable beer, but not my favorite BW. I tend to like my barley wines to be darker, thicker, more fruity, less hoppy.
