Commercial Description:
Dry and surprisingly light-bodied. Malty sweetness and caramel flavors shift to distinctive dry-roasted malt notes.

Bottle. Pours black with brown translucent edges when put up to a light. The tan head quickly diminishes but creates some decent lacing. The aroma is very, very interesting. Lots of hops, chocolate, and some burnt cardboard notes. The initial flavours are rather interestin as well, because some weren’t noticeable in the aroma. All kinds of citrus is apparent, from darker citrus, to a little pineapple, apple, and kiwi. Hops make a big appearance with the citrus. Some roasted notes start to creep through along with a slight bitterness. Towards the finish, chocolate becomes more apparent. The roasted notes bursts, complementing the chocolate quite well. Citrus becomes overwhelmed by the other flavours, but is still noticeable towards the end. Apple seems to be the flavour that becomes more apparent than the rest. Light bitterness mixes well with a subtle chocolate sweetness. The finish is quite smooth. This is very, very tasteful.

Wonderful stout! Aroma is that of roasted coffee with a hint of fruit and hops. Great balance of flavor! Overall has to be my favorite brew from 3Floyds.

Murky dark brown hue with a nice thick layer of tan foamy head that mostly sustains. Aroma is a balance of grassy, pine resin hops and chocolate/coffee malts and roast, light booze and sweetness. Taste is smooth cocoa and light coffee malts, quick transition to pine resin and floral tones, the finish is dry and brief in flavor but a mild alcohol warming lingers. Moderate carbonation and watery-creamy texture. A nice refreshing and easy-drinking stout with low abv and modest hop presence.

bomber by way of StFun... pours really dark brown at the edges but the body is opaque black. it’s topped by a soapy reddish brown head with lots of pillowy carbonated lacing. the aroma is really hoppy... grassy, piny, some citrus and floral hops mix in with chocolate, slightly scalded cream, charred wood, mild sourness and coffee. intense roasty flavor pairs with cream, wood, citrus pith, fruit and fruity sourness, grass, pine, chocolate and a dry finish leading to an aspirin burn in the back of the throat. ashy aftertaste comes with a bunch of coffee. medium to full body. soft airy carbonation, acidity and astringency trick you to believe it’s a whole lot lighter... insanely drinkable...

Perfect head, thick with tiny bubbles forming slowly. Smooth, espresso-scented, hella hoppy for a stout, with a bit of sweetness in the finish. Thick mouthfeel. Yes, this is great.

22 oz. bottle - thanks to SQNfan for the trade; jet black and oily texture; frothy chocolate-colored head settles quickly; lots of coffee on the nose and some sweetness too; roasty and mild fruit flavors present; flavors are slightly on the mild side with touch of bitterness; dry finish and very nice overall with a good combo of sweetness and bitterness from the chocolate and coffee
