Aubrey (2606), Denver, Colorado, USA Oct 7, 2008 Hazy and rusty orange with a big, froth-filled head that lasted. Inviting orange-cake nose. Very spicy beer. Earthy, wholesome, English-slanted malts had notes of sweet bread, caramel, pumpkin pie, toffee ... along with some curious aromas that made me think of allspice, cinnamon and nutmeg. Bitterness was a bit mild, IMO, but it was there. Possibly even a faint element of earthy smoke or wood. Overall, I thought it was good, but it had some odd things going on that threw me off. Interesting, nonetheless. glkaiser (999), Seattle, Washington, USA Oct 1, 2008 Thanks, bri. Hazy orangish amber with solid head. Really nice mix of bitter hops, smooth malt and more oak presence than I expected. I really love this; not too sweet or syrupy, and the hops really pop out. Drinks very smoothly. Lovely. beerbill (1312), Laurel, New York, USA Sep 27, 2008 22 oz. bottle courtesy of a trade with yem25. Pours a hazy orange gold with a moderate yellow/white head that lasted through three-quarters of the glass and left very nice window pane lace all the way to the bottom of the glass. Very pleasant aroma of sweet malt, grapefruit, orange and pine. The flavor begins with a hearty dose of sweet malt, followed by some very resinous pine and juicy grapefruit. Bitter at the finish but definitely not overdone. Very tasty and thoroughly enjoyable! BuckeyeBoy (1181), Boise, Idaho, USA Sep 23, 2008 Bottle pours out a amber topepd with a very small head. Aroma of hops and ABV on the nose. Tast some sweetness of caramel and a nice malt combo. Another winner from FFF awiseman01 (45), Indianapolis, Indiana, USA Sep 23, 2008 Bottle. Deep orange color. Very full tasting hop character that is almost roasted. Flavor is definately strong, hold onto your glass, this one may leave your head spinning.
