sliffy (1896), Columbus, Ohio, USA May 5, 2008 DLD ’08: On tap in the pub: Pours a hazy brown with a light tan head. Aroma, caramel, brown sugar, herbal notes. Flavor, caramel, sweet notes, herbal earthy notes, some light fruity notes.
CaptBier (198), Birmingham, Alabama, USA May 1, 2008 Draft at FFF. Mildly harsh, citrus aroma with little of the advertised apricot. Very light red in color. All the advertised flavors are there, but nothing sticks out. Not too terribly bad. StFun (232), Indiana, USA Apr 30, 2008 Very nice offering from FFF. On draft at DLD. I liked this one a lot. IPA but with a malty character, smoother, creamier (and weaker) than Dreadnaught, but with a yeast and woody profile that adds character. Silky and smooth, notes of toffe and fruit, with a good sized alcoholic bite to it. The 9% isn’t noticeable until its already racing through your system. A tangy finish that I later learned was apicot...nice touch! Everything is in a great balance here. I enjoyed this and want more. hopscotch (4211), Vero Beach, Florida, USA Apr 30, 2008 Draft… DLD ‘08… Hazy, deep yellow ale with a small, frothy, white head. The subdued aroma reluctantly offers notes of apricot, citrus fruit and earthy hops. Medium to full-bodied with a smooth, silky mouthfeel and prickly carbonation. Woodsy and fruity with terrific balance. Fuzzy fruits and toffee malt with medium bitterness. Bittersweet, apricot finish. adrian910ss (940), philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Apr 29, 2008 On draft at 3FFF’s night before DLD 08. Pours a hazy orange copper with a medium sized bubbly beige head. Aroma of tangy iced tea, lemon and other citrus. Taste of tangy citrus iced tea with hints of lemon and apricot.
