Draft at source. Black pour/tan head. Poor retention/some lace. Aroma is tangerine/grapefruit, light chocolate/roast. Taste is sweet, chocolate, roast, quite bitter, orange candies, citrus. Palate is soft, oily, bitter finish. More of a black DIPA than imperial stout. Good.

[Tap] Jet black pour with a thin amount of brown head on top. Aromas of resin, pine, chocolate and some coffee. Flavors include burnt malts, tar, bakers chocolate, anise, bitter hops, coffee, pine sap and molasses. Potent kick of bitterness in the finish. Heavy and oily. Alcohol is well disguised. A great beer!

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Dark black body. Very floral aroma with some sweet roasted chocolate smell. Tastes to me more like an imperial black IPA. The hops seem more present than the coffee and chocolate taste; however, still can easily pick up the sweet tastes. It’s very good, but a little to hoppy for my liking.

From notes. Enjoyed at Sergio’s World Beer in Louisville, KY on 26 December. Someone produced this baby out of the trunk of a car in passing. This has a black pour work beautiful tan head and awesome lace. Aroma is very hoppy up front. Good malts and chocolate under green leafy hops. Flavor is incredible. Very hoppy and dry with a wonderful chocolatey malty lingering flavor. The mouth feel is great. Perfectly carbonated for velvety coating lingering flavors. Chocolatey, leafy and hoppy. Great

More of a black ipa, however a great mix up for a stout. I really enjoyed this one.

Pours black with a brown light head. Smells of spice grassy hops hint of chocolate and carmel. Taste is great blend of ipa and stout. The stout lingers on palate. Excellent brew!

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
22oz bottle in a tasting glass. Pours near black with a beige head. Aroma of piney and floral hops, some dark malts with the roast and chocolate standing out, some light caramel notes, and some dough with hints of spiciness. Flavor the same with a decent blend of everything. Average texture. A solid beer, but not the most interesting.

Bottle from west side liqours, pours deep dark with a decent khaki hued head, leaves a nice lacing trail. Pine and dark malt in the nose. Taste begins with pine and bitterness. Some dark malt, coffee. Full body.
