Thanks to jrallen34 for braving the element that was the FFF brewpub and snagging some of this on DLD. Served in a SAVOR snifter. Pours a very dark brown with a thin tan head. The nose starts the show off right with some nice really barrel character--light bourbon plus some mild oak and vanilla coming through in the background. Really nice start. Good moderate malt presence and a nice creaminess come through as well. The flavor is nice with good notes of bourbon and the always-pleasurable Moloko base beer. Nice balance between the two components of this one. Mouthfeel is luscious and creamy. Nice finish with just a touch of booze. Very well done. Serving type: on-tap Reviewed on: 05-11-2011 1

DLD ’11. Pours thick oil black with creamy tan head. Aroma was some vanilla, chocolate and coffee with big pepper notes, mostly the smoky from the ancho. Taste is slight chocolate, vanilla and bourbon, with big smoky and vegetal pepper notes, some heat from the pepper with a sweet and slightly smoky finish. Good stuff, peppers are used well and are in the forefront but don’t dominate.

Draft at brewpub DLD 11. Pours black with small mocha head that was almost done when served. Aroma is chocolate, vanilla, and oak - very subtle. Taste however a nice balance of milk chocolate, roasted malt, and heavy oak with only hint of bourbon, nice creamy palate. Very good.

Wonderfully smooth and almost fluffy. Great nose of chocolate, bourbon, brown sugar and spices. Flavor is the same, almost more a milk chocolate flavor in there. Goes down great.

On tap at Pizza Port’s Barrel Blast. Pours with a black body with a ring that holds good lace on the side of the glass. Aromas of bourbon, wood, chocolate, nougat, fudge and raisins. Smells extremely rich. Flavors of lactose, milk chocolate, oak, and nougat. Light bubbles with a smooth and silky mouthfeel.
