3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle split at the 5/7.5/10K tasting, thanks to Jacqueline #504/608, 30/12/14.
Black with a decent tan covering that soon dissipates to spotting.
Nose is sweet, muscavado sugars, dark fruit, woody, dark toffee, play dough, rich roast, light brandy snap biscuit.
Taste comprises rich roast, chocoalte, earthy notes, subtle brandy barrel, soy sauce, brown sugar.
Full bodied, slick and oily, lightly warming alcohol in the close.
Decent enough impy but again no ’wow’ factor for me from another Dark Lord.

Big sweet flavor with some smokey dark malts, syrupy dark fruits, raisins, earth, old wood. Full bodied, chewy, with fine carbonation. Warm finish with lots of sugary, syrupy fruits, some chocolate, nips of smoke. Heavy hitting gear but tasty in small doses.

4.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
On tap at DLD Day 14. Heavy umami aroma filled with soy sauce and booze. Flavor is intense sweetness with strong brandy overtones. Brandy is really well integrated and feels quite natural. Really nice, but needs to tone down the sweetness.

4.7 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Black pour with very little head if any. Damn this smells complex as hell. Vinous dark chocolate, raisins, figs, exotic cocoa, and pixie dust make up the nose. The flavor is really tickling my fancy. Chocolate covered marshmallow bathed in sweet brandy and dark matter. I’m pretty sure this is charged with gamma rays to boot. All nonsense aside, this beer is absolutely killer.
