This beer is brewed during the hop harvest with a portion of unkilned or “wet” hops fresh off the vine. Apricot in color, Broo Doo’s nose has dominant orange, pine sap and floral notes, balanced by a glazed nut and toffee malt body. This celebration of the hop harvest has intense tropical fruit, citrus and spicy accents that showcase the complexity of the hops we all love. October release.

Bomber pours a clear amber orange body with a lasting offwhite head. Lots of sticky lace is left on the glass. Aroma is fresh and leafy hops. Grassy and pine notes are enhanced by citrusy orange. Light medium to medium body with an herbal feel and a pleasant velvety carbonation. Taste opens with citrusy orange hop notes, quickly jumping to bitter citrus rind and pine cone. Toasty caramel malt is an undertone and never intrudes. An excellent harvest ale. Drinkability limited only by price and availability.

Poured from a 22oz bottle and served in a shaker. This beer poured a mostly clear amber with a lasting, one finger beige head. Some very nice, sticky lacing was left around the glass. The aroma of the beer was made up of sweet and spicy citrus and pine notes, and also some sweet, lightly roasted caramel. The flavor included a huge hop profile that was smooth and not overly bitter or astringent. Huge notes of grapefruit rind were followed up and balanced out by some caramel and toffee. The drink was medium-bodied with mild carbonation providing a soft mouthfeel. A very tasty IPA/harvest ale.

who-we. I know theres a better way to spell that, but you get the picture. Nose of huge and delicous hop. Fantastic citrus with a nice but slight malt backbone. One of my favorite beers of the year for sure. Wish I had more. Might have to go get more.

Poured from a 22 oz. bottle. Clear, bronzey orange color. Sweet aroma of caramel, white donut peach, brown sugar, and banana initially; wet grasses and a lovely dank meadow shade settle in underneath with plenty of mint leaf and rosy shimmer. Nice, except for a rude tone of urinal on the back end. Slick, bitter grapefruit and simple iced tea flavor; very reserved with quieted bitterness and candied lavender sweetness. Bits of green spiciness and plenty of wet foliage, earth, and bitter citrus peels fill it in, but the effect remains quite mild. Loose and medium-bodied in the mouth; finishes with some red grapefruit bitterness and a bit of lemonade and orange. Quenching, and fairly nice. Thanks for sharing, Ken!

22oz bottle, courtesy of sprinkle. Thanks, Mike! Pours a bright honey-orange color; whispy off-white head with patchy lacing. Very pleasant, resiny orange and pine hops in the aroma; doesn’t have an intricate malt character behind it, but the hoppiness is very enjoyable, oily, and still fresh even though this has a month or two behind it. Medium-to-full mouthfeel: chewy orange and citrus hops; resins and a bit of heft / viscosity; surprisingly minimal pine notes considering the harvest ale aspect is Simcoe-based; the Simcoe appears more as a soft herbal / mineral character more than anything else; pleasant harvest ale, though not quite as good as something like Founders Harvest Ale, which is probably my favorite harvest so far. Medium, oily mineral and orange hop finish; reasonably balanced ending.

Bottle provided by kmweaver. hazy amber body with a small beige head. The nose is lightly sweet with lots of cotton candy, apricot, tangerine, light grapefruit and a touch of caramel. The flavor is lightly sweet, moderately bitter with cotton candy, caramel, light pine, grapefruit and tangerine. Medium body is soft, almost chewy with moderate carbonation.

UPDATED: OCT 27, 2008 22 oz bottle straight from the Brewery. For starters that’s a really crazy label. Pours a clear amber with a beige head. Hoppy fresh nose. Pine, grapefruit, and this fresh green grassy earthy aromas. It seems close to an IIPA with this abundance of hops. Flavorful fresh hops in the flavor too. So green earthy, juicy. The fresh wet hops really come through here. Juicy and delicious. The caramel malts are hidden behind all of these hops, but its not out of balance either. Bitter but not to the dreadnaught extreme. So drinkable. Put dates on the bottles and put this out year round in sixers. 8/4/8/4/17 = 4.1

Bottle from Kan Presents: Fresh Hops - a blind tasting. Pours a clear ruby amber with a beige creamy head. Fresh hops caramelized malts, citrus, pine, an earthy herbalness and dough. Creamy malts that have a carmelized /toffee / candied note with citrus grapefruit and that earthy herbal hops that surround it. The piney bitterness that lasts. Solid wet hop beer. 8/4/8/3/16 = 3.9
