Bottle 401/449. This was about 4th in a series of limited barrel aged beers from floyds. The previous (and subsequent) were all $35 this one was $20. So i should have been suspicious. Poured a golden orange. The aroma is horrible. Really smells like nail polish remover, but stronger and more offensive. The taste was almost as bad. There was a hint of rotten peaches deep in there but covered by the astringent. More like a spirit than a beer. Although better than sipping on vodka. Took 2 days and 8 people to finish. By far the worst beer ive ever consumed.

Bottle shared by Adam. Thanks... Pours a hazed orange with a thin head that falls fast. Nose is god awful. Apples & maple syrup. Hot mess. Nose is rough. Nail polish dominates garbage here. Maple syrup. Way in the background a hint of peach. On tasting, more than a sip is tough. maple and peach, faint tartness. Sharp and cheap cognac. Absolutely awful.

Bottle shared by Adam, thanks! Pours a near clear gold with a slight amber with a tan head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of acetone and a bit of tart peaches. Aroma has acetone upfront with backing notes of graham cracker and light tart peach.

Super Fantastic Bubble Plastic...........That is the aftertaste you get from this beer!!! It is not unpleasant, but very different than anything i have ever tasted.I really really like most of the Three Floyds stuff, but this one i am not crazy about. It is worth a try, if you can get a hold of this super-limited edition brew.........

UPDATED: APR 17, 2013 Sampler poured from my bartender at the brewpub (Munster, IN). Pours a well hazed golden hue, a bit darker, good haze, some dulled glow and orange gold edges. A frothy whitish head sits atop. Aromas are richer spirit barrel, wet oak and alcohol burn. Some vanilla, gentle butterscotch, some gentle bready malt, kiss of lemon and peach. Warmer Cognac laden nose, scotch and vanilla, gentle sweetness, wet oak. Barrel is the leader here. Initial is some heat and barrel flavor up front, growing oak, vanilla, wet spirit, warmth. Some gentle bready malts, the body doesn’t hold up to a more assertive barrel presence. Heat, vanilla, gentle warmth and a kiss of peach. The middle shows a touch of fruit, gentle peach, lemon, some gentle citrus, grass. Gentle sweetness, as the backend preaches more oak and barrel flavors. heat, touches of tartness and fruit show at times, but as expected, this beer is about barrel. A bit harsh at times, but overall, it’s not bad. It grows on me. It’s quite an odd choice though. The peach element gets largely covered up by the barrel, which although not intense, takes the reigns for sure on this one. Meh. Certainly barrel slanted. A bit harsh at times.. meh The nose really is a bad at times. Lots of Scotch, Cognac. Harsh and unruly on the palate.
