A crisp and refreshing lighter summer offering, this Kolsch-style beer is golden in color, light bodied and a perfect remedy for hot weather.

22 ounce bottle, bottled on 8-10-2015. Served in a Kölsch/stange style glass, the beer pours a slightly hazy gold color with a couple inch frothy white head. Head retention and lacing is both pretty good. The brew smells like grainy/bready malt, floral hops, lemon peel and some white pepper. Taste is similar to the aroma, but there’s also some grassiness noticeable too. Mouthfeel/body is light, it’s a bit coating, but it’s also refreshing and easy to drink. Lots of carbonation. I thought this was a good brew, certainly worth picking up if you’ve never had it before. Hopefully next time I’ll get to try this one fresher. $8.99 a bomber.

Really nice aroma and pleasant tasting. Drinking on last warm day of fall in order to simulate summer.

22 oz. bottle from The Party Source. Pours a clear, light gold color with a finger of white head that fizzes into a film quickly. Very clean throughout - light, bright, barely-there hop character for Three Floyds (lacks their big, forward grapefruit-spicy house hop character). Lighter malts and grains, too. Light-bodied, with soft medium-high carbonation and a clean, refreshing mouthfeel. Great summer drinker, and a long-time FFF beer that I finally got around to. Good one.

This beer pours a clear pale golden color with a medium white head that burns away steadily. Short strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of citrus, hops and malt. Light body with flavors of sweet citrus, grainy malt and earthy hops. The finish is fruity with a mild hops aftertaste. Decent overall.

On tap at John’s Restaurant and Tavern in Winfield, IL., and shaker served, displaying a fairly clear, golden color, with a presentable layer of white head froth, and persistent cling to the doily-like lacing. The nose was light spice & floral, and a soft fruit scent as pear. Better than light bodied, with lively, almost seltzery carbonation, the taste added a bit of soft grain, modest, earthy hop bitterness, and finished crisply. A very pleasant summer & food complementary brew. A neglected style of late that has always been one of my favorites.

bottle @ Party Town / Florence KY --- Clear, slightly hazy light amber color, full, frothy three finger head that is slow to let go, fluffy blobs of lace. Amazing aroma of German malt and Kolsch hops. Taste is light malt that has a smidgen of clay, moves with light fizz through the swallow to a finish that shows clean floral hops. Not as much flavor as the best examples, but still a solid Kolsch.

Bomber to english pint. Hazy straw pour with a little head dissipating to a thin film. Nose is biscuity, bready, spicy, little banana. Flavor is bready with some spice, a bit of astringency. Nothing too special. Decent and drinkable.
