3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Clear pale golden pour with a white head. Some sweet bread, pale malt, and floral hops. Light yeast, a bit of grass, and some fruit esters such as apple and pear. The flavor has a fair amount of fruit character such as apple, pear, and white grape. Some floral hops, mild grass, and yeast. Pale malt and bread give some sweetness. Could use a little bitterness and less sweetness.

Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. Soft drinkable beer but good for style.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle @ home, courtesy of TheAlum. Adam knows my tastes well! Thanks! Pours a hazy yellow appearance with a lasting white head. Straw, pale grainy, herbal, lightly floral hoppy aroma. Fairly dry grainy malty, herbal, light lemon, grassy flavor. Crisp and dry. One of the best (if not the best) American renditions of a Kölsch that I’ve ever had. Like.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Growler… Murky pear-colored ale with a small, scattered, white head. The citrusy, grainy bouquet offers lemon pith accompanied by a gentle, malty, butterscotch component. Medium-bodied and creamy with soft carbonation. The citrusy, grainy flavor provides a modestly acidic lemon nuance. Finishes crisp and tangy with a soft kiss of butter. Growler courtesy of fear025!

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
651mL thanks to tastybeer. Pours a clear straw with a medium, soapy white head. Minimal, weak retention. Nose is plastic, canned pineapple. Taste is sharper, mild metallic, thicker biscuit, sharp lemon, clean, mildly hoppy. Almost cream ale in profile- very near macro-esque. Sort of like an upgraded Bud Light. Palate is a bit thin and papery. Nothing offensive. Highlight of this beer was the sick new label, which is 1000x better than the one shown on this site. It is essentially a skeletor reaper babe you would expect to see at comicon.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: OCT 5, 2012 Tap(2006). Caramel and barley malt aroma. Clear orange amber color with moderate head. Slightly sweet malt flavor with moderate hops present throughout. Hops flavor much more up front than is typical for the style but gives this one more body and works well. Another great 3F brew./ Bottle (2012) Dusty lemon and lactic malt aroma. Golden yellow with large head. Musty , slightly stale barley malt flavor. Will average this a bit - liked it way better in 2006 - possibly due to freshness.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Nice fruity/hop aroma, and suitable body. Lots of hops for a Kolsch, but it’s Three Floyds, so what do you expect. I think they could’ve toned down the hop bite, but overall it’s still a good brew.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
On tap at the brewpub. Poured clear, lighter orangey-golden with a sticky cap of whitish head. The aroma picked up soft, toasty bread and grainy notes with accents of grassy character and some mis-placed sourness. The flavor had a bready base with lemon zest, grassy bitterness, and a pinch of honey around.. finished with more of the aforementioned sourness and grainy bitterness. Crisp and light-bodied on the palate.. refreshing, but the sourness just didn’t strike a good chord with me.
