4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Dirty, dirty litter box nose. That, and a big nug. Wonderful mouthfeel, silky and sticky. Hop resin, grapefruit, hay and mild strawberry. All of that, though, is completely covered by slutty dankness.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
A solid imperial IPA from one of the best breweries to make them. Aggressively hopped with dense tropical flavors. Citrus aroma, thick malty backbone. Picked up in Chicago in 2016.

4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Tasting at Hackneyís Printers Row. The aroma is pungent with passionfruit, apricot, and green peach. Sweet and malty. Tropical bubble gum hop flavors. Bitter, fresh, juicy hops throughout. Really nice, not sure itís 100 IBU though.

Bottle. Cloudy yellow orange pour, with an off white head. Caramel, pineapple, cardboard, bitter, orange, and stale bread. This bottle must be kind of old, this is not very good.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Slightly hazy orange pour with a huge head. Aroma is full of passion fruit. Full bodied. Juicy as hell with lots of mango. Finishes with pine and is slightly dry. Very intensely hopped. Not much flavor other than hops, but not a bad thing.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a powerful gold/orange/red color with an off white head. Itís a hop bomb, but not bitter. Super juicy hop characteristics, with a bunch of tropical fruits and well balanced with the malts. Iíve had 100+ IBU beers before, and havenít been a fan. This one is different. Much smoother, better put together, and a balanced, complete, beer.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: MAR 18, 2016 Bomber from rabbott, bottled 2/2/16 and drunk 3/13/16.
Pours with the usual large, well-retained white head of 3F, topping a bronze-copper body that shows a very gentle chill-haze.
Very fruity and citric in the nose, the beer, while obviously refrigerated, has obviously lost some of its hop aromatics, the lighter ones always going first. Still, the malt behind it shows only a light toastiness, and while there is some resin and grapefruit rind, the malts are very nicely intertwined with the hops and balance each other pretty well. No alcohol/booziness in the nose is a big plus. Not much in the way of tropical fruits, but more of an apricot/peach/nectarine-thing going on. Very nice, all told, and certainly taking in to consideration that itís six weeks old.
In the mouth itís very much like dreadnaught in the malt/texture department, though with less crystal malt/specialty malt "hardness" and a very robust creamy-honey and light toasted character. Soft, with tight carbonation and a heavy bitterness, though not to the point that itís off-putting. Alcohol isnít raw/hot but is definitely felt alongside the prominent malts and hop bitterness. As for the hops themselves, itís a lot of red/yellow fruits with a good dose of orange and grapefruit. Of course, having never had this fresh, Iím not sure whether the tradeoff between less rawness/alcohol that you get is worth the loss of the very freshest hop compounds that comes with six weeks of age. Iím guessing probably, because this still has a very nice fruity and citric quality to it, but is decidedly strong and would probably be very brutish if extremely fresh. A pleasure, as always, to try new (to me) three floyds beers.
