Bottle shared from kermis. Pours black with a minimal head. Aroma of chocolate, coffee, stewed dark fruits. Lovely spicy chilly burn, not a beer to down, rather slowly enjoy

Bottle shared with Phil and Jacob - Pours black tan head. Nose/taste of cognac, oak, hot chili pepper, alpo dog food, soy sauce and molasses - full body. I usually love pepper imperial stouts. Not this one.

Bottle shared by Pavlov Badzewski. Colour...basic black with no head. Nose...massively peppery but the sweet malty aspect helps temper the pepper nicely! Palate...ooooooo! Tingly! Is it the CO2? Nope! The peppers!! Just the right amount of peppery burn ( faint burn) and flavour coupled with a Tootsie Roll chocolate and ganache. The finish is long and sweet with that subtle pepper burn. Nice!

Bottle from trade through Sean9689. 2012 edition. It pours opaque black with a small brown head. The aroma is the classic Dark Lord with chocolate and sweet roasted malts along with dark sugars and oat. Sweet roasted and high spicy chili flavor. Lots of milk chocolate and soy combined with hops and some herbal thing from the chili. Cream like palate. Heavy stuff!!

Trade from sean9689 Thanks buddy. Black body with a tiny light brown head. Chocolate, roasted malt, green pepper, light coffee notes. Flavor is spicy, hot chilli peppers, chocolate, roasted malt, coffee. Chili burning aftertaste. Really complex with the traditional Dark Lord sweetness. It gets better. I’m still not a big fan of Chili in beers.

750ml bottle in a teku. Pours black with a small head. Aroma of roasted malts and chocolate and coffee and vanilla, some cognac and oak, a lot of peppers, a lot of sweetness, and some dough. Flavor the same with a hot pepper finish. Smooth texture. A pretty good beer but a little too peppery.

PotjeBier (1999) - Amsterdam, NETHERLANDS - SEP 11, 2014
Bottle share @ Beer Temple, thanks to Chris Knight. Dark color, almost black. No head. Aroma’s: red/dark fruits, vegetal (from the chili). Chili’s, fruit, sweetness. Flavor is sweet, fruit, right before the heat takes over.... Hot/spicy mouth feel, but luckily it doesn’t linger too long. It still distracts from the flavor though, and I actually don’t get any cognac. Full bodied, thick.

Poured deep dark brown with no head. Aroma of sweet chilli, dark chocolate and dark fruit. Full body, flavour of sweet, sharp chilli, dark fruit and chocolate. Dry, sweet lingering chilli.

&50 ml bottle poured a clear dark reddish brown with a lingering ring of brown foam. Aromas of anchos, cognac, dark chocolate, roasted malt, earthiness and light spice. Palate was medium bodied and smooth with a warming finish. Flavors of roasted malt, anchos, dark chocolate, cinnamon and cognac with a smooth warming lingering chilie finish.

Bottle shared with friends. Such a combination of sweet dark lord and delicious chilis. The chili strength never becomes overpowering, but complements what I already consider to be one of my favorite stouts!
