Courtesy of Brandon Bottle: The aroma consists of moderate-heavy chocolate, molasses, dark fruits/grape, alcohol, and a touch of coffee. It?s a dark brown with a minimal tan head that is really just a very fine ring. The flavor starts with moderate-heavy molasses, chocolate, and sweet dark fruits. The finish has brandy, sweet apple, faint roasted malt, and a hint of coffee. It?s medium-full bodied with mild carbonation and a sticky mouthfeel. Overall, the sweetness wears on me a little.

Bottle @ RBSG 2015 (huge thanks to Douglas88!!!)... Jet black pour with a thin head. Noticeable spirit and wood on the nose. Dark fruits, brandy spirits, and sweetness. Like an eaux- de-vie mixed with a DL. In a nutshell it’s tasted like cake-like, baked goods soaked in Brandy.

Bottle shared by Douglas at RBSG. Thanks! A: Oily black boy, legs, thin cappuccino head. N: Fusel alcohol, cocoa, vanilla, brandy, cherry, fig, raisin, fsoy sauce. T: Cavity causing sweetness - so cloying. M: Oily body, alcohol is present in spades, light carbonation. O: Bourbon Vanilla Dark Lord is a pleasing experience - this is still a hot mess. I wonder if it needs to get aged out, but yeah, no thanks.

9000th rating. Thanks to douglas88 for opening at RBSG ’15. 750mL bottle, pours black with a reddish tinge and a tiny head. Aroma brings out big brandy barrel notes, along with dark fruits and sweet liqueur. Flavour is very sweet, with sweet brandy barrels, booze, and dark fruits. Super complex but a tad cloying and boozy. Wonderful one to try, but it’s a 1 oz. sipper type of beer. Good and very fun to try.

Woooooo. RBSG!!!!!!! Has a head. Its not crazy overpowering, definite alcohol and thick sweet malts. Just a little soy sauce. Sweet dark brownie at the end.

Tap: Looks like used motor oil or squid’s ink. Completely black, oily, viscous. No head at all. Smells & tastes almost exactly like Worcestershire sauce, except replace the inherent saltiness with a boatload of sugar & you’re on the right track. Yep, super-sweet Worcestershire sauce. Small hints of roast, cocoa, vanilla, booze, wood. But mostly just Worcestershire sauce & an overload of sugar. Get your insulin shots ready. Maybe some noodles, too. I feel bad for the people who chose this variant in bottles. Beyond disappointing.
