Bomber to taster (from notes; BIG thanks to alexsdad06). Looks good; a viscous black with tan head that dissipates into lacing. Smells good too; sweet, malty, and boozy. Tastes like it smells with a nice brandy element that’s pleasant on the palate, as well as tasty. Excellent beer.

Barrel-Aged Dark Lord tasting! Thanks to all the guys in the tasting group who helped make this happen. The beer is dark brown, nearing black with a thin, beige head. The aroma is really nice, offering dark, roasted malts, brandy, sweet malt, dark fruits, alcohol. Great flavor. Super smooth. Complex, wonderful, delicious. Full bodied with relatively low carbonation. Overall, an awesome beer. So glad for the opportunity to sample this. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 01-15-2012

Black, little brown head. Smells like brandy and alcohol, some roast. Taste is very sweet, raisin, dates, brazy, booze. Texture is oily and nice. Very nice beer.

Bottle shared by MIsta! Dark brown/black pour, almost no carbonation and an aroma peat, dark fruits and a hint of brandy. Flavor is sweet brandy, dark cherries, chocolate and a nice balance all the way through (way more than any regular version.) Any fan of sweeter imperial stouts will love this. Thanks for sharing Geoffrey!

bottle 291/392 at dak’s 1/22/12. seems a little paler shade of black than before...makes sense. aroma and flavor of chocolate, roast, multi vitamins, prune-like fruitiness, vanilla and smoke. surprisingly it has brandy notes in it as well. . it is just as cloying and sweet as before but comes off thinner and somewhat dece. 6/4/5/3/13

Bottle shared by alexsdad06. Poured a black color with an average frothy brown head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate to heavy toasted malt, chocolate and woody alcohol aroma. Medium to heavy toasted sweet flavor with a heavy dark sweet and small alcohol bite finish of moderate to long duration. Full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. This is a standout beer.

[bottle at Danish invasion tasting--thanks cgarvieuk and fonefan!] Nicely, slightly tangy cereal malt aroma with potent grain and some grape notes. Almost oily black with no foam but a thin, white ring. Sweet, pumpernickely flavour with a touch of brandy and plenty of dried fruit. Full body, low carbonation, sweet dried fruit finish.

Thanks GT! Bottle #43/392. Much like the other variants with that pure black and sweet chocolate presence, though the brandy barrel lends that sweet liqueur presence, banana, red plum, golden raisin, and that same effervescent start to the palate that fades to a smooth, creamy finish. Not quite as good as the others, but still yummy.

75cl, Vintage 2011 (Yellow wax), Bottle 353/392 (no mention of ABV), new exclusive American brew, thx to Secret Santa!, very complex sweet Stout, roasted/woody and slightly alcoholic/fruity, yet not too heavy, very balanced, hazy, nearly no head, top class!, yet not worth the hype surronding it!, WOW!
