Appearance: Pours dark brown with susdy brown ring of bubbles.

Aroma: Brandy, caramel, smoke, chocolate.

Taste: Coffee, chocolate, sugar, brandy, wood, black pepper. A boozy/coffee finish.

Mouthfeel: Thick but less thick than original Dark Lord, with and with less carbonation.

Overall: I like this, but I like the Brandy + Vanilla Bean variant better.

Its the same very sweet dark lord, same balck colour, with a grapey sweet wine dimension. Suddenly it takes on complexity and balance. One sip its black cherry, the next wine. Ever so drinakble. Smoother mouthfeel.

Courtesy of Dak. Pours deep dark amber with mocha like head. Amber colored body? The aroma is thick with roasted malts, chocolate, molasses and hot brandy into the end of the draw. The taste is smooth and thinner than expected but maybe makes sense as this has been in the barrel a while. The taste delivers molasses, dark roasted malts, chewy thick maltiness and then sweet smooth brandy along with a kiss of rich vanilla yum. This is an overly sweet yummy sipper. Im digging this the more I sip.

Bottle by Dak @ Woodshed 1.0! Dark obsidian pour bordering onyx with a small latte head. Rich vanilla, dark oak, fudge, molasses, and brownie batter are prominent. The flavors meld together nicely. Quite sweet as expected but not overly cloying. Velvety texture and this one hides the alcohol quite well. Without doubt, the best DL Ive had!

Bottle i had a chance to tryat the Three Floyds XV anniversary party. Big, black, oily pour with a small tan head. Aroma of strong brandy on the nose, along with chocolate, sweet dark fruits. The brandy barrel brings even more sweetness on the nose than is really desirable. Flavor is not as sweet as the nose leads you to believe. Flavor of brandy, chocolate, booze and oak.. Full body, nice carbonation overall very good.CHEERS!

Bottle This beer rocks! Pours clear and nearly black with a small, beige head. The aroma is vinous and fruity with lots of blackstrap molasses, burnt malt, pouch tobacco, charcoal and mocha goodness. Full-bodied, sticky and thick with moderate carbonation. The luxuriant flavor offers layers of sweet caramel, dark chocolate and brown sugar nestled upon a buttery pecan praline foundation. Finishes caramely and coffee-candy sweet. Big-time thanks go out to 50belair for sharing this rare, magnificent treatment of an already outstanding beer!

Bottle shared at Chris house. Black pour with a mocha head. Sweet brandy nose. Smooth and sweet with booze, dark roasted malts, caramel, and all kinds of brown sugar notes. Very well done.....
