2012 Bottle purchased at the source on Dark Lord Day. Pours absolute motor oil black black black. About half of a finger of khaki head, and some small drips and dots of of residual sugar lacing. Smells of so much sweet sugar, dark fruits like raisins and maybe some figs. There’s coffee malts in there as well, vanilla bean too, a wine scent as well. Caramel, toffee and booze. Tastes incredibly sweet, it’s like eating a chocolate cake that’s been soaked in rum or whiskey. Obviously chocolate, coffee, booze, toffee and caramel. There’s an oil like texture on the palette. It’s smooth. Great stuff, however I would recommend that you share with others.

Black wax bottle from Mane Liquor. Pours thick, oily black with no head and a dark mocha lacing. Aroma is raisins, chocolate, espresso and molasses. Tastes is huge - feels like I’m drinking a mudcake. Plum, raisins, sweet vanilla, red wine, dark chocolate and port sweetness all very present. Thickest beer I’ve ever had, actually made me thirsty. Sticky with little carbonation. Wow, can finally tick that one off the list.

Viscous pitch color, thin brown lacing. Sticky aroma of molasses, sugary chocolates, toffee apple, cold coffee, a hint of vanilla, and an uneasy soy sauce undertone. Initial sweetness is very strong, and emphasized in the finish. Full-bodied and thick with the booziness masked by the sugar.

Bottle, huge thnx to Kermis for sharing this! Cheers!! 2012 vintage, red wax. This pours a black beer, no light or whatsoever shining trough this pure liquid devil. Aroma is sweet, light alcoholic, raisins, molasses and some boozyness. Well balanced. Very sweet, full sugary moutheel. Incredibly sweet, slight touches of roast. Great balance between booze and flavors. Great sipper, this will knock you out of your socks. Awesome!!

Just outrageous good on tap at Mikkellerbar Viktoriagade. Complete black pour with a thin lacy head and booze on the glass. The nose is absurd with a huge roasted malt, cocoa and espresso with big warm boozy notes. A hint of earthen malt with sweet vanilla. Just an incredible flavour with big intense roasted malts, smooth and sweet with big intensity that makes you shudder a bit. Finish is heavy and warm with a huge full bodied nearly syrupy leftover in rhe mouth. Just incredible

Tap at Copenhagen Beer Celebration 2013 - Session 1. Vintage 2012. Pours thick black with a fine, creamy tan cap. Very sweet and syrupy with notes of licorice, molasses, chocolate and blackcurrant. Full bodied with fine carbonation and oily texture. Warming, sticky sweet finish with raisins, alcohol and chocolate syrup. Rich and decadent, but not as good as some older bottled versions I’ve had in the past.

2012 pours nice dark color but not motor oil thick. Still seems to have some unfermented wort sweetness. Good chocolate roasted aroma with a good flavor. Overall okay.

My first impression was quite negative due to circumstance. I was assisting AndyReynolds with his brewing outside on one of the hottest days in a while, smoking a strong cigar and tasting various strong beers. Between the heat, the smell of the brewing process, the cigar smoke and the tipsiness, my body screamed switch to water and then Andy says, "here try this beer; it’s one of my favorites..." I try it and went inside to cool off and switched to water. Now, I can rate it: bomber (2013) - pours dark brown with coffee cream head and deceptively large head with great lacing. Nose is milk chocolate. Flavor adds brown sugar, booze and roast. well balanced but ends very sweet. does not live up to the hype. metallic aftertaste.

On tap @CBC13. Aroma is powerful and sweet; dark sugar, caramel, licorice and cocoa. Taste is super sweet, caramel, ash, coffee, syrup, chocolate. Hides the alcohol well. Decent, but the hype is insane...
