Commercial Description:
A hophead’s dream beer. This Imperial India Pale Ale has an opening salvo of mango, peach and citrus hop aromas that sit atop a pronounced caramel malt backbone. Although Dreadnaught is a strong and intensely hoppy ale, its complex flavors is both smooth and memorable. 9.5% ABV, 100 IBUs.

Aroma of sweet pineapple, malt, light cheese. Amber orange color with off white head. Very well balanced initial flavors. Hoppy bitterness is evened out with a honey sweetness. Light saltiness. Alcohol in not present at all. Very creamy palate.

This was a big beer, won it as a lif on beeradvocate. The hops are typical ones used by FFF among their other brews. I wished this had more of a piney, citrusy nose than that of a barely wine flavor

On tap @ Map Room. Now this is a DIPA! Basically a more hoppy Alpha King that has an invisible crystal malt presence balancing it out. Incredibly well-balanced: nowhere as cloying as the Goose and far superior to the Hopslam. Amber/orange w/ a diminishing off-white head; spicy nose, characteristic FFF hops profile w/ more hop oils; sweet, honey and floral hops in flavor; long bitter finish. One for the ages- God, I love FFF!

22oz bottle. Thanks to beernbourbon for this one, I owe you big time. Sticky resinous hop aroma with a fruity piney smell. Crystal clear golden orange with a fluffy white head that leaves some lace. Very bitter up front but the sweetness slowly fades in but still letting the bitterness take center stage. This is a medium bodied beer with a silky mouth feel and average carbonation. The flavors are balanced well and the alcohol taste doesn’t overwhelm. This is an amazing beer and I really have to thank beernbourbon again for hooking me up. I will savor this one for hours.

bought a bomber from the keg in Clarksville, Indiana. Poured into pint glass. Aroma is very cirtus with grapefruit standing out the most. flavor was of hops, grapefruit, other cirtus and some apricot or peach even. For the strength and ibu profile, this beer is extremely drinkable. Best Imperial IPA I’ve ever had.

22 oz bomber poured into a clear pint glass. A piney citrus aroma that pours a golden amber with thick frothy white head. I’m am not a big fan of IPA’s, as I don’t like the bitterness of hoppy beers, but I really enjoyed this. I am more of a stout drinker, but this was a great change!

Lovely sweey hop aroma, tropical fruit on top of a perfectly balanced nutty, caramell malt base with deep notes of toffe and fruit. Nice full body with a good little doose of carbonation. Flavour is full of piney hops, exotic complex layers of fruit and lovely nuttyness and caramell. Ends really piney and bitter, refreshing yet powerfull.

Hop Fest part of the tasting shared with the Hop Czaar Drbayern, NC’s version of Magnum, P.I. Celticbrew, Uncles Steve and Tom, Our new Beer pimp Brian, and Dancin’ Paul. Poured a dark yellow that was hazy, leaving a nice white lace on the outsdie of the glass. A citrusy Hop Aroma prevaled. The mouthfeel was impressive. The Hop flavors were well balanced. Great aftertaste!
