4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: NOV 3, 2013 Bottle from chalet party shop. Pours clear amber with a large white head. The aroma is peppery, earthy, mango, pineapple, peach. The taste is very bitter, has a bit of grapefruit balance, resiny dry bitter finish. As it warms, more lemon and pineapple come through.

4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours hazy copper with big frothy white head. Aroma is very nice pine, citrus and floral. This is some serious hop juice. Some pine and lots of citrus. Really great hop profile, some pine and lots of citrus that gives flavors of mango and other tropical fruit and grapefruit. Big caramel malt back bone balances the big hop flavor perfectly. Medium body but very crisp and easy to drink especially considering the high ABV and it has the perfect level of carbonation. This is an amazing beer. Maybe the perfect IPA.

Overall, a solid DIPA that doesnt burn you out, very well balanced, and is very easy drinking for a 9.5 ABV, almost no boozy taste at all.

4.4 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
As soon as I drank this I thought it was a beefed up Zombie Dust with a bit of Aloha King with some extra malt. Totally 3Floyds. I think this is a really good beer. I do disagree with the label that says "a hopheads dream." It isn't as hoppy as I'd have guessed from reading that. But it is well balanced. I'd say it is a bit syrupy. I prefer a little more dry but it is an Imperial IPA, so it's expected.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Had on-tap at Kuma’s Corner in Chicago. $10 for a pint.
Appearance: A very cloudy yellow color with two fingers worth of a fairly creamy head. Lacing is here-and-there, but overall, it looks excellent in the glass.
Smell: Hm. Not bad at ALL, but not as fantastic as I was expecting, given other reviews. The peach/guava/tropical fruit are definitely there, but not in as big of a way that I wanted.
Taste/feel: Man... I love the assertive bitterness of this beer. I really, really do. The same fruit in the aroma comes in the beginning of each sip and offers the taste buds a lot of sweetness. The taste of Dreadnaught is what I wanted in the aroma, if you get me. Next is a split second of grassy/piney sorts of hops before finally just going away, leaving a lingering bitterness and warmth at the back of the throat that makes you desperately want another sip to wash that slight warmth/burn away... but then it comes back. So you sip again. And again. And again... Keep in mind that I find that to be a good thing. That’s not a con.
My score may not really show it, but I was slightly disappointed with Dreadnaught, despite the fact that I still liked it. A lot. I’d be curious to see what this tastes like out of a bottle to compare. This beer is worth your time.
