miketd (679), Cleveland, Ohio, USA Dec 20, 2008 Trade with mattf311. Thanks. Pours Golden copper with a nice white head. Good lacing. Aroma is of fresh hops and floral with citrus. Flavor is pretty bitter with a sweet malt finish. Full bodied and resiny. Best bottle I have had. TearsforBeers (171), Ohio, USA Dec 14, 2008 Pours hazy yellow amber – 3/5
Smell – Glory. American hops, particularly citrusy cascades everywhere.
Taste – delicious delicious hop oil. This is the best. HUGE citrusy hops with a balancing sweet malt backbone.
Mouthfeel – thick and sticky, though only about half as much so as Dark Lord.
Overall – this is the king of the IPA’s I’ve tried. Fantastic.
Dmalone102 (216), Denver, Colorado, USA Dec 14, 2008 A very good IPA.
The beer is cloudy, but clears as it warms. It has little head and some lacing. Big grapefruit and piney aroma.
The taste is great, big malt, big hops and big booze.
puggy211 (576), cordova, Tennessee, USA Dec 13, 2008 Bottle. Amber color with medium head that diminished quickly. Full hoppy aroma. Medium body. Complex balanced flavor with a great long bitter finish. Great brew and will hunt out another bottle ericandersnavy (1039), crossroads, Texas, USA Dec 12, 2008 bottle thanks to ilovedarkbeer. poured an orange color with a white head. aroma of floral hops and butter. the butter could of been from the previous beer sampled. flavor of some good citrus and excellent hop use. a great IIPA Slipstream (734), USA Dec 9, 2008 Updated: Sep 25, 2009A big thank you to Adrian for bringing around a bottle of this here nectar of the gods. This is definitely one of my highest rated beers. I wish I could get my hands on this stuff more frequently, because it puts other, very respectable, IPAs to shame. Rich gold-amber pour and colorful label. The aroma is floral and pine hops, juicy and fragrant, with a touch of honey in there too. Dreadnaught is a beautifully balanced IPA - mellow bitterness joined with perfect malt, plus flavors of peppers and fruits. Very smooth, but still makes a strong impression. The Floyds have succeeded in making a flawless IPA! nbutler11 (729), Phoenix, Arizona, USA Dec 7, 2008 Thanks to kylefleeger for the pour. After having Pliny the Elder I find this Double IPA to be its only equal thus far in my drinking experience. It features a bit more sweet citrus but the two are so close in flavor that its hard for me to differentiate between the two. An amazing beer to say the least. BMan1113VR (2757), Los Angeles (and Dallas), Texas, USA Dec 7, 2008 Bottle thanks to ilovedarkbeer. Pours with a small, off-white head and a hazy golden hued body. Good lacing. Aroma is quite nice with hops, pine, and orange, maple syrup and brown sugar. Taste is a ton of hops with some exotic fruits and caramel. Light carbonation and syrupy mouthfeel. Alcohol is well hidden.
