StFun (535), Indiana, USA Jan 16, 2008 Updated: Dec 22, 2008Delicious! Smooth and creamy yet bitter and metallic. Pours a deep dark orange, armoa is all citrus and metal. Flavor packs a wallop. Hits hard, but never overpowering. stangger (155), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Jan 16, 2008 22 oz bomber shared with Hawksfan17 even though he went to St. Joe’s. Pours an orange-brown; aroma is like that of a fruit bowl, probably the best smelling beer I’ve had. Floral style IPA; description says mango/peach but I was thinking pineapple. Aftertaste really stays. Definitely a great beer, but not quite the overwhelming flavor I was expecting from the top-rated IPA. mixinnixon2000 (227), Chicago, Illinois, USA Jan 16, 2008 very strong burst of flavor. Plenty of hops and fruits. one of my first craft brews. three floyds never dissipoint Hawksfan17 (717), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Jan 16, 2008 Pours hazy amber brown. Smells like rotting fruit, malt syrup, floral hops. Flavor is citrus and floral with a little kick of spice, Smooth. Naka (524), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA Jan 9, 2008 Bomber shared with dpjuart, Nate, and foureyedgeek. Pours a hazy orange with a very small off-white head. Really fruity floral hop nose with a hint of rich, sweet caramel. The hop flavor is a lot more floral than citrus, but has a little bit of earthy undertone. The finish tastes like a sweet tea. If I had to find on thing against it, there was a huge contrast of sweet and bitter, but nothing in between. This caused a kind of weird sensation with the tongue where the front and back are going crazy and the middle feels left out of the party. Had a pretty milky body with an insane amount of taste layers. dpjuart (670), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA Jan 9, 2008 22 oz. bottle via trade with Ty. Shared with Naka, Nate and foureyedgeek. Pours Orange w/ amber hues. Hazy with a small, off-white, foamy head which dissipates to a thin ring. Nose is big and caramely w/ a faint resiny citrus aroma lurking around. Sweet caramel background with viscous, resiny and sticky floral and citrus hops. Almost tea-esque. I didn’t expect this to be as sweet as it is, almost too much malt. Complexity was there. Great beer overall, just not quite what I expected. Nate (2533), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA Jan 8, 2008 From bomber, courtesy of dpjuart. Caramel and mild toffee, biscuity sweet. Underlying hop aroma that feels as though there’s a beast underneath calm waters. Brown sugar, pine resin, grapefruit rind, and musty funk. Lustrous amber-orange hazy with thin off-white thin lacing head. Heavy watery body with mild-medium carbonation. A bit warming. Starts sweet with caramel and biscuit, brown sugar, and huge malt character. A bit too syrupy sweet. Hops come in hard with apricot, grapefruit, and pine resin. Sweet sticky finish with medium bitter. Sweet after. A bit overpowering. After is bitter on tongue. SQNfan (591), Wheaton, Illinois, USA Jan 7, 2008 The beer poured a thick head with medium sized bubbles which immediately began to dissipate. This was a very clear copper in color and the nose was filled with scents of grapefruit, piney hops, caramel and spice. In the mouth the midpalate was rich and mouth-coating with solid weight. While there were tons of hops, they were well-balanced with some sweet malt. Again, with tons of hops, the finish had the bitterness one would expect but it was well balanced with malt that it did not come off as overtly bitter and dry. This is an extremely balanced with that has lots of everything. Yum!
