KieferUGA (461), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Dec 16, 2007 Bomber courtesy of alexanderj, shared with kleyland before the Liverpool v. Manchester United match. Pours a hazy orange color with a good amount of floaties. Medium sized off white head. Very sweet grapefruit aroma. Body is nice and thick. The flavor is a really nice balance of sweet malts and the citrus hops. I would have prefered a bit more hops near the backend, but maybe my palate wasn’t ready to work at 7:00 a.m. anders37 (4516), Malmö, Sweden Dec 16, 2007 Bottle, many thanks to bu11zeye for this one. Pours a clear orange amber color with a small off-white head. Malty and very hoppy grapefruit aroma. Sweet malty very bitter and slightly harsh flavor with lots of citrus hints. Long hoppy grapefruit finish going over to a long bitter aftertaste. Very good! gunnfryd (3539), Kristiansand, Norway Dec 16, 2007 Bottle at RBNAG 07. Golden / orange colour with an off- white head. Aroma is hop , citrus. Flavour is sweet, hop, citrus, malt, flower. Nice beer. Smahler515 (8), Chicago, Illinois, USA does not count Dec 14, 2007 Had this numerous times. Pours a very pale orange. Not so much head but the aromas take over all my senses. The apricot and grapefruit rise up from my tulip. The flavor was great and is one of the best IIPA I have ever had. Vav (13), Chicago, Illinois, USA Dec 10, 2007 22oz. Growler. Pours slightly cloudy pale orange, like an IPA should. Thin head, which is surprising since they add yeast to prime. The nose is a knockout...it smells like a harvest ale, with strong grapefruit. First few pulls are so bitter your palate has to adjust. Cascade & Chinook hops outdo all flavors with the grapefruit, though you can taste the sweet malty backbone. Finishes with a cloyingly sweet tang, which fades into a buttery ester that isnt all that unwelcome in this style. bryandhargrave (165), Richmond, Virginia, USA Dec 7, 2007 i took a special trip to indiana just to have this beer. i had been reading about it for quite a while and just felt like i needed to have it in my life. this is a PERFECT beer. i was told by my traveling partners that i even had a whole new look of joy on my face when i tried it. a case of 12 bombers set me back 100 bucks even but it is worth every cent. Taverner (827), San Ramon, California, USA Dec 7, 2007 Updated: Jul 15, 2008In the movie ’Beerfest,’ there’s this scene where they are first trying Germany’s greatest beer. This must have been that beer, except it isn’t from Germany - its from Indiana. It poured like liquid honey into my half-yard. Immediately I could smell the mangoes...the grassy earthy hops that you could smell if you were around the bottle. The first taste - and its sweet. Not the brutal dominatrices out here on the West Coast, but a sultry soft Midwestern girl. It peels back into a welcoming bitter, that lets you know it’s an IPA. But at no time does it feel like a IIPA - but it is. Oh brother, it is. ON SECOND ANALYSIS: This is an even better IIPA fresh. You really get the spicy, dank hop notes that make a truly perfect IIPA.
