Bottle, thanks to drfabulous for filling in a big want on my quest to cover the top 50. Pours clear amber with lovely, luxurious, creamy white frothy head. No real lacing. Aroma is ... Mostly caramel? Some pine, some peppermint, somewhat floral, a bit of onion. If I strain maybe I can imagine smelling some citrus, but it’s probably in my head. Doesn’t match up with the description as I’d hoped. Anyway ... Taste: sweet caramel malty up front, plenty of bitterness that lasts and lasts and lasts. Alcohol makes itself felt as well. Palate: full body, oily slick texture, good carbonation. Overall: there must be some pretty serious batch-to-batch variation in this, or it’s changed, or times have changed, or something. I don’t think it’s ridiculously old or anything, either. Were I to have this at a bar from an unnamed brewery I wouldn’t take any special notice.

On tap at Sugar Maple. Pours hazy gold. Some wheat flavor. Not as much hop sting as I was anticipating, but a great flavor profile of flower petals, spruce, mango, and apricot.

Hazy amber pour with a white head. Aromas of citrus peel, mango, and pineapple with floral hop aromas too. The nose on this one is really awesome. Flavor doesn’t disappoint either! Nice malt balance to the hops with the floral/citrus notes coming out nicely as it warms up just a bit. Smooth finish with a slight bitter hop note. Great beer.

Draft. Nice citrus aroma with a distinctive malt aroma as well. Medium mouthfeel, with a resiny, mouth coating body. Malt backbone makes this a bit filling, and takes away from hop blast.

4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
A delicious beer that is an overall winner in every catagory for a DIPA. Aroma is hoppy with mango over tones and an underlying dankness that I personally love. Appearance is beautiful light orange, and mouthfeel is dense but still lighter than most beers of this style, making it dangerously drinkable. Taste is maltier and not quite as aggressive as 3F’s other featured DIPA, Arctic Panzer Wolf, but still packs an awesome punch. In 2013, this isn’t nessecarily a super-unique beer, but it’s does everything right.

Citrus, pine and mango in the aroma. Cloudy light amber color with nice head. Bitter citrus, pine and onion taste. Perfect mouthfeel. Bitter aftertaste liners more than it should.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
22 oz. bottle in trade from Fletche00. Nice orange color, with a medium, beige head. The lacing is thick and persistent. The aroma is mangoes, sweet potatoes, caramel, pine, and a lot of herbs. Intense bitterness, cut with a mild, grainy sweetness. Heavy body, sticky, thick, acidic, with a harsh, metallic mouthfeel. The finish is sticky and bitter, and very persistent. Overall, this is an immense, flavorful DIPA. The mouthfeel and aftertaste are very overpowering, and not very pleasant. Still, this a delicious, irresistible, and great tasting beer.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
22oz bottle pours semi-clear amber with nice finger of head. Got this one fresh. Nose is big fruity hops, orange, pineapple, lemon, citrus. Taste is tons of tropical fruit, pineapple, mango, citrus, with a very nicely balanced malt presence that holds up the hops well. Finish is bitter juicy grapefruit and pine resin, a touch of heat as it warms, lasts. Amazing DIPA.

Bottle. Pours a copper orange color with white head. Resiny, grassy, hoppy, piney aromas. Hoppy, resiny, grassy, earthy, piney flavors. Very hoppy and you can taste the alcohol a little. Really hoppy beer, quite good. Not quite 100 Percentile in my mind, but I wouldn’t mind having a few of these.
