4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 LoFi (1345) - Göteborg, - FEB 12, 2013Bottle from trade with skycracksopen, big thanks!
Pale amber with an off-white head leaving lacing.
Taste: over-ripe tropical fruits, pine, citrus fruits, very light rancid butter.
Taste: pineapple+peach juice, toffee, some pepper, sweet, orange, non-sour lemon, clementine, over-ripe fruit.
Medium bodied+, moussy.
Nice and juicy, but not top class due to something that didn’t feel that fresh (over-rope fruits and butter), even if it was not disturbing. I’ll drink it again any chance I get, so feel free to send me one.

Good clean ipa. Poured clear orange yellow, off white head. Aroma is lacking but the taste is there. Clean pine and citrus and light body for an imperial. Very good.

Pour is orangish copper with a thin white head. Nose is hoppy with tropical notes of pineapple, citrus, flowers and pine. Taste is wonderfully balanced. Malt sweetness is there to tame the hop bitter and vice verse. Tastes f mango, citrus and floral bitterness. Mouthfeel is medium and not as oily as some other beers in this style. All in all a great beer.

I love this beer. Really delicious. By far my favorite DIPA. Better than either Pliney IMO.

On draught at Apex. Golden dark color. Fruity citrus aroma. Caramel, citrus, tropical fruit, hoppy bitterness in the taste. Nice bitter bite on the finish.

22 oz. bomber poured into a tulip glass. BIG thanks to joromiller for hooking me up straight from DLD 2013! I’ve got to say, I’ve been excited to get my hands on this behemoth DIPA for a long time! Pours a dark, hazy orange color with a thick, white, creamy head. Aroma is bursting with floral notes and resiny, piney hops. Flavor is grapefruit right up front on a nice, sweet caramel malt backbone. The finish has an elegant hop bitterness to it; not overpowering at all. The hop flavors really coat your tongue and leave a nice, lasting aftertaste. Texture is medium bodied & velvety smooth all the way down, with good carbonation. Overall, this brew is beyond amazing! Definitely right up there with Pliny and Hopslam for me. Great example of a DIPA. If you can get your hands on this, do it. Then send me some more. Please!
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 ryanscourt (278) - Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 12, 2013
Huge piney citrus aroma. Color is orange and similar to most dipas. Feel like I have had a lot of good dipas lately and trying to sort through what makes each unique. This has a huge hop presence but extremely drinkable. a liitl oily however. Would have to have back to back with some of the other good one to truly be able to see rate but sure enough this is up there with the best. Only thing for me is that it lacks a little malt in the body to keep it a little better balanced. More i drank (22oz) I became a little less impressed.

UPDATED: MAY 17, 2013 On tap at Apex for Gigantic Beer Week.
A: Clear copper color with bubbles drifting throughout. A thin ring of white head.
N: Dried leaves, pine, damp moss. Biscuit and a hint of pineapple. Not very strong, and not really all that appetizing.
T: Really, really sweet. More of that damp grass. Pretty sweet and then astringent. Where are the hops?
M: Oily and heavy. Lots of alcohol. Needs a lot of work.
O: Really unimpressive. Not wholly undrinkable, but I’ve given this beer three chances now, and it’s been a complete let down every single time. Pass.

Zeebra Extreme Beer Festival - Clear, dark blond. Aroma of caramelised tropical fruit. Quite sticky and sweet. Flavour is overly bittersweet. It doesn’t drink so well.

Tap at Mikkeller & Friends. Poured a hazy medium amber with a thin white head and lots of broken lace. The aroma is rich and hoppy. A sign of things to come. The flavour is strong bitter, rich and hoppy too. There is some liqourice bitterness, but what makes this such a great beer is that the the bitterness does not dominate and the palate is super smooth. A classic for sure which does deserve its rating.

UPDATED: MAY 6, 2013 Tap. Clear copper with a medium sized good lasting and lacing head. Aroma is mango, peach, light sweet citrus, white bread, rich caramel. Taste is medium sweet and bitter. Full body, creamy texture, soft carbonation. Delicious big chewy iipa that isn’t over the top, but tastes of more, more, more.
