COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A hophead’s dream beer. This Imperial India Pale Ale has an opening salvo of mango, peach and citrus hop aromas that sit atop a pronounced caramel malt backbone. Although Dreadnaught is a strong and intensely hoppy ale, its complex flavors is both smooth and memorable. 9.5% ABV, 100 IBUs.

UPDATED: JUN 10, 2013 400th rating! Thank you to manbrognig74 for the bottle. Poured from 22oz bottle into the tulip. Huge head forms and stays. Sort of hazy burnt orange color. Piney aroma with some grapefruit. Smells delicious. Thorough lacing down the sides of the glass. After a taste it is easy to see how this is one of the top IIPAs. Sweet front end and a crisp bitter back end. The bitterness is just enough to let you know it is there, similar to Heady. What a great beer for #400.

Bottle. Orange gold in color. A big frothy white head. Citrus aroma with grapefruit, peaches and a carmel malt background flavor. A bit boozy, but still very good.

Copper Penney, clear and great carbonation. Hoppy aroma and nice booze notes. Very crisp for such a big brew. Biscuit malt added dimension to hops and alcohol. A sipper.

Fresh bottle. Pours a clear copper color with a white head that leaves behind messy lacing after a few sips. Aromas of tropical fruit and citrus, caramel malt, mango, faint bubblegum. Medium+ bitterness balanced with a nice maltiness, light to moderately sweet. Medium+ bodied, average carbonation. Lingering, medium+ bitter finish. Would never pass this one up on tap.

Bomber. Nice citrusy hop aroma. Orangish amber color, a little cloudy. White head that dissipates w/pretty good lacing. Taste is very nice. Nice citrus fruit up front, with a nice malt to balance, and a pleasant bitterness in the end. Full bodied. Overall, a very nice IPA that doesn’t taste as strong as it is!

Way old backlog from Mikkeller and Friends. Couldn’t remember I had this one bit... oh well. Pours a hazy yellow with a small white head. Aroma is very hoppy, lemon zest, lime, sweet citrus, malty sweetness. Taste is fruity, hoppy, lemony, citrus, some tropical fruits and some malty sweetness in the back.
