4.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 sprinkle (114) - Arcadia, USA - JAN 10, 2006
Semi-cloudy orange/gold in color. Decent head and nicely sticking lace. Nice sweet and spicy hop nose. A good malty sweetness upfront then a big piney hop bite, but very well balanced. Long lingering finish.

I love this beer and I drink it on a regular basis on tap at the brewpub and out of the bottle. This makes it very hard for me to give an accurate review... but I must try.
I’ve seen this beer come out cloudy on some pours and clear on some pours... I’ve even seen it pour cloudy and then clear up??? I assume it’s from where the keg/bottle has been filled from the holding vessel. Regardless of haziness, the beer has a beautiful orange meets graveyard western sky color, nice white head, not too big. I love to look at the clear pour of this beer as it can be as smooth as glass. The only reason I didn’t give it a perfect score is because the look of the beer is inconsistent.
Huge citrus and pine scent up front. It’s as if Mr. Coniferous and Ms. Tangerine ran into each other and suddenly melted on under the hot Chicago sun (in July/August). Lying underneath them would be high quality 2-row malt that is scooping them up. Next to Hopslam this is one of my favorite smelling beers.
Over and over again this beer collapses my palate with piney and citrusy hops. It never gets old. The light body makes this beer super drinkable Love it! Amazingly I never taste the bite of alcohol. Maybe it’s just me???
It’s simply and IIPA fan’s IIPA.

Bottle. Pours clear amber/orange. Citrus, pine, and caramel aromas. Tastes of citrus hops (grapefruit) balanced with malt (sweetness). Medium body with creamy texture. Well balanced. Great DIPA.
3.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 EHouse (86) - Boston, Massachusetts, USA - FEB 1, 2012
A citrus hop bomb. Tons of grapefruit dominate the palate while bitter hops wreak havoc on thy taste buds. I’d like a little more malt sweetness to balance out ye old bitterness.

4.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20 Aarond (14) - Westlake, Ohio, USA - JAN 27, 2012
Poured from a 22oz bottle. Burnt orange color with a lingering off white head. Aroma is piney, grapefruit, and exotic fruit. Taste is resinous hops, citrus, and pine with a strong malt backbone. Medium mouthfeel. Best in show for Imperial I.P.A.’s.
4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 MBrausen (63) - Minnesota, USA - JAN 24, 2012
Poured from a bottle into a pint glass.
A. Pours a dark apple hue, with a 2mm head, rests at a misty light island of head with a 1mm ring.
S. Smells of sweet citrus, mango, light pine and pineapple.
T. Tastes of sweet citrus, mango, tons of orange peel and a lot of pine to finish it off.
M. Medium body, tiny bit chewy and a very wet finish.
O. A fine beer. Well balanced, lots of flavor and very refreshing. A good beer any IPA lover should try fresh. It’s not the same when it’s older.

A – Transparent golden orange with little –to-no head. A light, white lacing line appears on this DIPA.
S – Pine, peaches, grapefruit… Hop oil, smells sweet, yet bitter.
T – Big on the hops, but still well balanced. The malts provide a much needed sweet tone that helps the hops not overpower the flavor. Grainy, citrus bite, but still likeably sweet.
M – Light carbonation and a creamy texture. Very pleasant for a big DIPA… speaking of which, the alcohol is warming, but still well hidden (and is also a bit of a creeper).
O – Very well balanced for being so hoppy. I cannot believe it took me so long to try this brew.
