COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A hopheadís dream beer. This Imperial India Pale Ale has an opening salvo of mango, peach and citrus hop aromas that sit atop a pronounced caramel malt backbone. Although Dreadnaught is a strong and intensely hoppy ale, its complex flavors is both smooth and memorable. 9.5% ABV, 100 IBUs.

Big, big, big. Month and a half old, so may be missing some of the bitter. Very malty finish, but wonderful big IPA opening. Almost a Carmel flavor, which works wonderfully with the bitter. Highly recommend.

Draught almost muddy brown colour with small head. Aroma is fruity of pine and mango, and also dry and hoppy with taste of toffee caramel and citrus, really nice but I think I have tasted better then this.

This is an amazing IPA. Pours a golden amber with a foamy white head that is two fingers. The head liners for some time. Awesome citrusy fruity aromas consisting of mango, lemon, finished with some resinous notes. Flavors of pine, citrus, and balanced with a caramel sweetness. Medium mouthfeel, medium carbonation, and high level of bitterness. Insanely drinkable!

Massive hops and massive malts. Everything here: grapefruits, grapefruits, grapefruits, citrus oils, mouthmenacing bitterness, chewy caramel, sweet rich pale malt fruitiness, massive hints of alcohol lurking underneath. So damn good since day one. Iím happy that so many have now had the chance to try it. Newest editions, since late 2005, are crock full of the sickest and illest Mango flavors.

22 ounce bottle, stamp says bottled on 09/29/2014. Served in a snifter, the beer pours an orange/copper color with about an inch and a half frothy off-white head that stayed around a long time. Thereís also a lot of lacing. The brew smells mostly like citrusy (lemon peel, grapefruit, orange) and pine hops, along with some grainy/bready malt. Taste is similar to the aroma, but thereís also some mango and caramel malt noticeable. It has a nice bitter hoppy finish. Mouthfeel/body is medium/full, itís coating with a good amount of carbonation. I think itís a pretty good overall Imperial IPA, I liked it. $11.99 a bottle.

Bottle @ home. Pours haze golden with a big white head. Aroma is mango, peach and generally tropical fruits. Flavour is grapefruit, orange and some pine. Medium to full body, soft carbonation. Finish is well-balanced and medium bitter with grapefruit and resin.

Had this guy off of a cask at BW3 Indy. Very sweet with a generous dose of hops to lend itself the characteristcs of an IPA. However, the sweet maltiness and the big (although well hidden) alcohol prescence bring out the imperial nature of it. An interesting beer that I greatly enjoyed.

Bottle. Pours an ever so slightly hazy golden with a big off white head. Aroma is tremendous, with sweet hoppy apricots and soft tropical mango, as well as elderflowers, lychee and bittering orange peel. Medium to full body with soft carbonation. Flavour is sweet hops with apricots and mango, bitter orange peel and pine, as well as a nice malt back with toffee. Bitter finish with grapefruit and resin. A fantastic brew! Subtle and easy drinking, yet hoppy and aggressive. Probably the best DIPA ever, and definitely worth the hype!

"compared to Hopslam? Not even close. Maybe this had some age on it. It tasted like it did, which tempered down the flavor and aromatic qualities of the hops, and left the bitterness and malty backbone, leaving it as a pretty good but way overrated strong ale. disappointed in this one a bit. 9/10-had a fresh one, which backed up the assumption of age on the first sample. very very tasty and aromatic hop bomb of a beer. Grapefruit rind and quite floral. not really any balance, but still super super nice. comparable to the excellent Maharaja. mid-hi 3 old, 4.5+ fresh. they need to date these!"
