COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A hophead’s dream beer. This Imperial India Pale Ale has an opening salvo of mango, peach and citrus hop aromas that sit atop a pronounced caramel malt backbone. Although Dreadnaught is a strong and intensely hoppy ale, its complex flavors is both smooth and memorable. 9.5% ABV, 100 IBUs.

After having this brew several times in the past year thought I should put a rating in for this fabulous IPA. 22oz bomber pours a hazy, dark coppery color with thin white foam that left a small amount of lace. Aroma had hints of resinous pine, lush citrus fruits, and sweet malts. The carbonation is low to medium & the body is full. The taste is a balanced mouthful of a creamy, malty, sweet finish, along with an unbelievable, intense hoppy flavor and bitterness equaled by the intensity of the richness of full bodied mega malt. This definitely is one of the best IPA’s I have to date. I could drink this stuff all night!!

Thanks to my dad for schlepping this back from Indiana for me. I thought this was a damn good beer, but I am not sure it matches up to the very best out there. Pours a beautifully clear amber with a white head and excellent lacing. Scent is of sweaty, earthy, with a touch of grapefruit. Excellent hop bite, but the malt back end is slightly lacking. Excellent carbonation. Bottle - Liquor Locker - Evansville, IN

Up front nose of apricot jam, mango, peach, jam, just wonderful. Golden color with a nice white froth. Medium body. Smooth. A little bitter aftertaste. Really a treat!

Finally got to try this one after a co-worker brought me a bottle back from Indiana. Sweet hop aroma and bitterness - top 10 DIPA, but just barely.

A - Super clear amber body with 2 fingers of moundy eggshell cream. The head slowly sinks into a thin cap with nice lacing patterns. S - Loads of juicy stone and tropical fruits. Apricots, peaches, lychee, mango, papaya, candied citrus, pine, doughy sweet bread. T - Just an onslaught of tropical and stone fruit. Papaya, peach, and lychee seem to dominate. Candied citrus, mango. A soft caramel malt backbone marries perfectly with the hops. Green pine seems to grab onto the edges of the tongue creating a slow build of bitterness that carries through the finish. The finish is more pine/grapefruit forward and dries out nicely. M - Thick dense body, low to medium creamy carbonation. Dry finish. Juicy would be one word to describe this beer. A very complex mix of aromas. Dreadnaught seems to be more dedicated to the aroma and flavoring hops while still providing an impressive bitter finish. This reminds me of a hoppier Maharaja. Wish I would have picked up more. Moderately hazy Orange-Golden Color with a moderate amount of carbonation and a high amount of lacing along the sides. Nose has a very rich aroma of Peach, Oranges, Apricot and Malts. Flavor is a sweet blend of peaches, citrus hops, caramel, toffee and yeasts. Aftertaste is a combo of bitter piney resin and mango sweetness. Body is very heavy and the carbonation is fairly mild and adds to the flavor. Overall, one of the sweetest and best Imperial IPAs I’ve had in a long time.

The resiny glory is balanced anchored by heft from alcohol. There are pleasant herbal notes and plenty of aroma.

Bottle @ home. Pours orange with a large head. Smells piney, citrus and sweet. Big malty backbone and lots of citrus. Holy shit this is amazing.
