A hophead’s dream beer. This Imperial India Pale Ale has an opening salvo of mango, peach and citrus hop aromas that sit atop a pronounced caramel malt backbone. Although Dreadnaught is a strong and intensely hoppy ale, its complex flavors is both smooth and memorable. 9.5% ABV, 100 IBUs.

Pours a clear light amber with a huge rocky white head. Citrus, grass, mango, and earthy dank aromas. Big hoppy flavor with malt, caramel, mango, grapefruit, orange peel, and pineapple notes. Full bodies with a smooth mouthfeel. Finishes with a lingering citrus aftertaste.

More clear yellow. Giant piney nose. Very bitter, turns into bubblegum aftertaste. Incredibly acidic, very present alcohol. Medium body, crisp. Very good. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap at Local Option, Chicago. Appearance is murky peach. Aroma is peach, stonefruit, citrus. Taste is everything - pineapple, citrus, sunshine punch. Wow. Big mouthfeel, bitter finish. Brilliant. Resin impresses itself on the palate more and more. Overall, easily one of the best imperial IPAs going round, if not THE BEST.

Pour from bottle - orange golden pour with white soapy head Aroma - peach, orange marmalade, citrus hops, piney hops, caramel Taste - fruity sweet caramel entry with an explosion of bitter hops. Palate - thick mouthfeel, medium body, semi fizzy. Long bittersweet finish. Excellent beer. A bitter monster of a beer but the fruity notes keep it from being overpowering.

My god. I've had Dreadnaught a few times from a bomber (which is awesome in it's own right), but experiencing it fresh at the Brewery on tap is a completely different, and amazing experience. The perfect Imperial IPA. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Tasted from bottle. Pours a cloudy gold with thick white head. Tons of lacing. Big time aroma of citrus hops and some pine notes. Taste definitely follows the nose. Citrus flavors of mango and grapefruit with some piney floral notes. Very well balanced double IPA. Excellent sweet malt backbone. A nice clean bitterness throughout without the bite at the end. Hides the high ABV very well. Very smooth medium bodied IPA. One of the best for sure. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Fresh on tap. This brewery releases so many great IPAs that the once peerless Dreadnaught, for me, has fallen down the list. All that said, the quality and approach hasn't diminished and it may still be one of the best of the classic new American double IPAs.

22 oz bottle..Hazy deep amber pour, big lacing white head.Aroma of pine needles and grapefruits. Some caramel malt upfront before the hop resin assault . Pine, mango, peach and grapefruit all in there.Lighter bodied than most double Ipas. Carbonation was low, finish was a long lingering dry bitter hoppiness.
