On tap at the brewpub: Very hazy gold with a decent white head. Some cloves and banana, a bit of yeasty breadiness. Smooth finish. Maybe I didn’t like it, maybe my palate was dead, but it was pretty average to me.

Poured a muddy brown golden color with a medium sized, white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of clove, banana, citrus fruits, and lots of spices. Taste of more banana, spicy cloves, bubblegum, tart citrus, and a thick and chunky mouthfeel. New favorite hefe!

Noble hop aroma with some light, caramel malt. Cloudy amber with a frothy head. Fruity flavor, like grape jolly ranchers mixed with hard caramel candy. A grassy finish. Lighter body, watery texture, but it is crisp and drinkeable.

Pretty hoppy for a german hefe and darker than most. Not that great though. I was expecting better. Somewhat sweet and lacking in the banana/bubblegum area.

This beer boasts a nice hearty aroma of hops diluted with the scent of caramel. It is turmeric in color and pours a good thick off-white head. This relatively thin beer spreads well throughout the mouth depositing a nice sweet hoppy taste on the palate. The flavor becomes more bitter as it flows down the throat and as it lingers.

Tap from the brewery. Cloudy, hazy, brownish golden hue with finger of white head. Bananas and bread in the nose. Fruity and clove. Smooth and unexpectedly full of flavor. Orange and citrus fruit notes. Yeasty and bready. Really nice for the style. Mild hop finish. Floral. Great full Hefe!

Pours like a cloudy typical Hefe. This one is not typical though. Dark golden color with a thick white head. Aroma is smooth with a hint of spice. The taste is not overly crisp, but just enough. Very smooth and light on hops.

Weizen glass at the brewpub. Dang! I thought I’d rated this already. Well, now I can try in a proper glass instead of the plastic cups they had ti use at the brewery. Served without a slice! Can you imagine! Darker than most weizens— coppery in the thicker part of the glass—and with a frothy wheat beer head. Busting with wheat beer spiciness, especially coriander, with lemon and orange behind it. I can’t come up with banana impressions, but that’s okay by me. At 20 IBU it doesn’t pack the big hop smack of most 3F’s, but it’s certainly very filling!

UPDATED: SEP 6, 2009 Served up in a weizen glass at the brewpub. Hazy yellow/brown with a creamy snow white head. The aroma is very light with banana taking charge, but the clove is there if you look for it. Nice balance between the banana and clove in each drink, and a little bitterness to boot. Full bodied and pillow soft. Pretty to style for the Floyds. What’s up with that.
