COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
An American Wheat Beer brewed with red wheat and boat loads of amarillo hops gives this summer brew a lemony finish. The slight haze in the bottle is from the bottle-conditioning, where yeast is added to the bottle for a secondary fermentation. Gumballhead is a Skingraft Comics hero. Check out Skingraft Comics and Records at www.skingraftrecords.com. Cheers!

Bright golden; bleached-white head; nice lace. Mouthfeel was decent; maybe a little on the light side, which I expected. Wafty hop aromas throughout. Really nice notes of grass, pine and green hops. Malts were lightish, wheaty and bready. Very enjoyable beer, style guidelines aside.

Clear golden, no head. Great earthy, spicy hop aroma, dandelions. Taste is green, raw, and bitter. Hoppy and spicy. Bitter finish. Light body, but very smooth and drinkable. A well hopped wheat beer.

Head is initially small, fizzy, white, fully diminishing. Body is hazy dark yellow. Aroma is moderately hoppy (resin, grapefruit), lightly yeasty (dough), lightly malty (toasted grain). Flavor is moderately sweet, lighlty acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, moderately acidic, moderately bitter. Light to medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. I guess throwing a lot of hops into a wheat beer would put it near the top of the American Wheat field, but I’m not sold on that idea. I think the style would be better served with some more interesting yeast character and esters, but this is ok.

Well, didn’t see this coming from a wheat. Hops are upfront and in your nose right in the beginning. Resinous and piney tastes, mixing well with the strong lemon taste. More sweet than bitter, but very strong in the citrus. A great suprise, but not my favorite taste.

On tap. Tasted the hops immediately and they were a plesant suprise. I did not expect the bitter hop taste in a wheat beer. I did not catch any bublegum taste or aroma. Wish I could buy near me and I would drink it often.

Discount Liquours, Milwaukee, WI. - 22 oz bomber. Pours a light golden with a spongy, frothy white head that leaves excellent lacing. Fresh, floral aroma with hints of mown grass. Slight citrusy flavor with some minty back end notes. Creamy thick mouthfeel, goes down very smooth. More in common with an APA than an American Wheat. Very good.

Draft in Indy. Dark amber with medium white head. Complex aroma of citrus. Medium body with wheat texture. Flavor was refreshing and very good brew.

Wow an American Wheat that DOESNT suck! Well this one doesnt seem to be true to style which is good. The aroma is lemons, bananas, freshly baked bread, and perfume. A yellowish orange appearance. A definite lemon and bubblegum presence but I also taste some peaches and apricots. It almost seems like an IPA and wheat blend. This lawnmower beer kicks ass. I feel like I need a lawnmower with a V8 engine and a bumpin system for this beer. Woohaa! Thanks Heemer!

Bomber: Poured a deep golden with a white sustaining head. Aromas were of sweet hops (citrus, grapfruit), and lots of them, also some spicy pine notes as well. Flavor was of hops which produced a nice balanced bitterness with a wheat background. Smooth mouthfeel, light but smooth. Very nice lacing.

What do you get when you cross an American pale ale with a summer wheat beer? -- Gumballhead. Needless to say, this was the hoppiest wheat beer I’ve ever had. Intriguing aroma and flavor. Smooth. Overall, excellent brew!
