I really enjoy wheat brews and was enjoying this one until i noticed, as countless others before me have, that this isnít a wheat beer. I have no doubt wheat is in there, and you do taste it a little at first, but this is essentially a forum for hops. The sleight of hand is effective, but as an American wheat enthusiast it seems wrong to rate this highly as it does not represent the best brews in keeping with the style. This is all awkward, I need an Oberon.

No wheat to speak of in this "wheat beer" almost like an IPA light. Hoppy floral nose and light hoppy body. Crisp clean finish. Tastes great but how is it that much different from their IPA to justify the need to brew it.

A healthy aroma of wheat, hops, and grapefruit. The color is a deep gold and produces a thick head. This beer sparks the palate the minute it hits the tongue and is not afraid to linger after it has been swallowed. It has a rich wheaty-hoppy taste infused with hints of grapefruit and lemon. It is smooth but does manage to make the tongue tingle ever-so-slightly.

Nose is dominated by hops. Like everyone else says, this is a lot like an IPA. Very hoppy, not much room for any other flavors to come out. A good beer by itself, but only because the hops taste good. I donít think the wheat beer characteristics are strong enough.

Bottle. Whereís the wheat? Was this an IPA? Floral scents on the nose with a limited head on the nose. I discerned no banana. Minimally this was an APA. Are all 3 Floyds hopped up? Diminished head and piney and citric. Very disappointed om the represenntation of the style, but it was OK if you ignore that.

UPDATED: JUN 5, 2007 Clear golden pour, small white. Good crisp wheat flavor with a good amount of grassy hops, a slight citrus finish with more hops in bitterness, taste, and aroma, a little too bitter for a wheat beer but still good.

Pours a golden orange with a white head. Has a very pleasant scent of hops, fruits, and yeast. This beer unlike most beers has a much different after taste than the upfront taste, with flavors of hops, malts and yeast with a mandarin finish.

Thanks goes out to Immy for hooking a brother up! Sparkling gold, topped by a fizzy white head, which lasts a while, and leaves some pretty nice lacing. Scads of grapefruit and hops in the aroma. Mild pine aromas as well. Bitter hops and cirtus flavours, orange rind acidity, semi sweet malt to balance out the bitterness. Pretty damn good. Crisp and refreshing. Thanks again TIm!

22 ox bottle. Poured a mostly clear gold under a fluffy white head. Nice citrus hop aroma, some grassy character. Very clean and Pale Ale like with the grapefruit notes. Earthy wheat base with a crisp hop finish. Very soft on the palate, no sharp edges with this beer. I really like this, certainly not your average American Wheat! More of a wheat based Pale Ale. Finally an American Wheat to get excited about.
