An American Wheat Beer brewed with red wheat and boat loads of amarillo hops gives this summer brew a lemony finish. The slight haze in the bottle is from the bottle-conditioning, where yeast is added to the bottle for a secondary fermentation. Gumballhead is a Skingraft Comics hero. Bottle. Pours a very pretty golden wheat color. Small whitish head, with little lacing. Aroma is of strong citrus. Grapefruit is the main thing I can smell. maybe a touch of wheat and pine. First mouthfull was a bit thin in my opinion. Very lemony and grapefruity in the taste. Very little in the wheat flavoring of this brew. A little to overpowering with the citrus and hops in my opinion. Still a good beer though.

Whenever you can make a wheat beer not taste like a wheat beer you’ve got a winner. This is a hopped out beer. Excellent.

Bottle from Mikkeller Online Shop. Dark golden to orange, slightly hazy body, with a small, frothy, white head. Aroma of citrus, red fruits, orange, peach, bubblegum, grass. Tastes of red fruits, citrus, orange, peach, grass, biscuit. Mouthfeel medium, with a lively carbonation and it finishes moderate bitter, with citrus, red fruits and malt notes. A refreshing, greatly balanced and easy to drink combination of a pale ale and a wheat beer. The Amarillo hops are beautifully showcased. Tasty!

Bottle pours a clear golden yellow with some white fizz. Light wheat in the sweet malty aroma with some lightly citrusy american hops. The flavor is crisp and smooth goes down real easy but has some backbone. Really good american wheat beer. Light grain spice, minimal wheat mustiness with some light lemon citrus, earthy fruity hops. Bright carbonation makes flavors linger with some sweetness.

Bottle, thanks to rxeight. Pours surprisingly clear and gold with white head. Aroma is full of citrus and pine -- is this a wheat beer or an IPA? Taste is hop-forward -- citrus, pine, with a light body, wheat that comes through more as it warms. Easy drinking, light body, heavily hop-forward. Doesn’t really have a prominent wheat character. I imagine this is one of those beers that redefined styles a few years back -- very forward thinking and progressive, making an ipa wheat beer. As an IPA, it’s okay. As a wheat beer, it’s hard to even recognize it. As a pioneer, this could be an earth-shattering revelation. Without that context, it’s a hoppy beer that has some wheat in it that’s pretty tasty.

tap. Hazy golden with small head. Wheat beer with huge amarillo hops. Big citrus, slight lemon. I wish all wheat beers were this tasty.

Orangeish pour thin white head. Fruity wheat aroma, like a bowl of fruity pebbles. Light body light to medium carbonation. Refreshing. Some orange and banana with some fruity marsh mellow like. Nice hop profile. Good stuff.

on tap at Pazzo’s (Lexington, KY). Clear golden body with excellent clarity; very durable, creamy white head leaves the glass well coated with sticky lacing. Aroma: moderately strong but somehow gentle mix of hops. Flavor: Some complexity from the hop (mix). Some bisquity malts in the background. Feel: light bodied but not at all watery, thanks in part to the crisp, medium-high carbonation that seems just right O: another excellent selection from FFF

Perhaps my fave example of a wheat beer, having drank alot of german and belgium wheats in the past, it is nice to find a wheat beer that crosses both the APA and wheat beer cross roads without being excessively hoppy or heavy on the belly, perhaps my fave beer out of both of these categories!

Poured from bottle. Pours a clear golden yellow, starting with a thick head that dissapates to a thin lacing. Aroma is Hoppy and citrus. Taste is lemon, fruity. The Hops stand out with a dry finish. One of my Favorites.
