kkearn (611), philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA May 27, 2008 12oz bottle. Pours yellow gold, capped with a big off-white head that slowly diminishes. Wheaty aroma at first, which is soon overpowered by earthy, citric hops. Wheat, grain, and salt flavors are complimented by Amarillo hops, which take over for the long finish. Definitely stands out in the crowd.
thickfreakness (53), Austin, Texas, USA Aug 18, 2008 Tasted on 5/4/08. The appearance is at first sort of off putting. It pours a fizzy filtered yellow with a white head that fades fast, but once you get to the smell you know its a whole different ballgame. It smells of strong citrus hops and a nice wheat sweetness. The taste is similar to the smell and its just perfect. A nice hop bitterness with a sweet wheat after taste. Its more like a plain pale ale but with an added wheat sweetness. This is an exceptional beer. The mouthfeel is sort of thin but its ever so drinkable. I wish I could get this all summer in Texas! glennmastrange (392), hobe sound, Florida, USA Aug 18, 2008 Bottle. Moderate notes of cereal, lemon for the hops, light leather for the yeast, with hints of apple, white wine, corriander and maybe some bubble gum. Head is small, white and creamy with fair lacing and is fully diminishing. Color is amber with a slight haze. Flavor is lightly sweet and moderately acidic to start, and finishes lightly acidic and moderately bitter. Palate is light to medium, between dry and watery and has a lively carbonation. A very tastey wheat ale, I drank this way too fast. rkuhnel (1064), Eureka, California, USA Aug 16, 2008 From a pub poiur ths came a cloudy gold with a fizzy white head and good lacing.Nice nose of banana and citurs hops. Light but smooth mouthfeel. Favor of wheat and hops, Slightly bitter mouthfeel. tmgiddings (2), , Indiana, USA does not count Aug 12, 2008 Thin, white head quickly disapates to none at all. Slightly hazy. An original wheat. Hops dominate the aroma and flavor while strong lemon-grapefruit notes balanced by a malty uncurrent. This delicious brew finishes with the flavor of sweetened grapefuit zest. A very crisp, refreshing summer beer. drfabulous (686), Columbia, Missouri, USA Aug 9, 2008 Like no wheat I’ve had. Lacking all those traditional flavors. Refreshing is a good adjective. It is light. Like a straight up ale. I like how 3F messes with the concept of a wheat here.
