(9/9/13) Pours a very nice orange copper with lots of carb forming a decent cream colored head. The nose is rather unique. It’s dank herbal hops (almost a bit antiseptic) with a bit of a peppery quality mixed with juicy tropical sweetness - mango & pineapple - and a ton of grapefruit citrus. It even has that sour grapefruit bitterness to it. The nose on this is ridiculously complex. The taste is less complex than the nose would let on. It’s mostly bitter astringent, grassy hops. The bitterness comes across as really complex, but I cannot pinpoint what those complexities are - it’s just a shifting, complex bitterness that I can only describe as extremely pleasant and refreshing. The mouthfeel is medium-bodied and creamy. I figured it would be sticky and oily, but ended up being quite smooth. Overall this is a very enjoyable brew. The nose is ridiculously unique and I just wish the taste had followed suit. Not to say the taste was bad or lacking, but the nose wrote checks the taste failed to cash. However, I would drink this brew again in a heartbeat. Something about the bitterness within the taste really just worked for me despite not following the nose. This is a unique brew from two phenomenal breweries and I think it stands out as something different in the current sea of quality IPAs that currently exist in the craft world.

Orange mostly clear pour, eggshell head about a quarter inch high. Very delicious juicy grapefruit scent, perhaps watermelon too. Soft carbonation, medium body with a frothy mouthfeel, finishes a bit dry. Juicy grapefruit hop taste with a healthy even dose of pale salty malt. Finish flavor is florals and some Carmel malt. Not too heavy or in your face, session-able seeming, great flavor. Mosaic may be my new favorite hop.

rosenbergh (7414) - Tampere, FINLAND - SEP 29, 2013
Draught at the Three Floyds Brewpub, Munster, IN. Clear golden colour with a small foamy white head. Very intense floral (even rosy) aroma with mild bitterness and some dryness. Tempting. The flavour is more ordinary IPA. Exotic fruits, some mild resin and pine in hops. Very tasty. Moderate bitterness. Could have another... ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Orange pour, white head. Holy tropical fruits batman! Guava, mango, lychee, sweet malts, melons, a hint of bitterness but the tropical fruits are the winner here.

Tap at 3 floyds 24 Sept 2013, Mosaic just smells so good, how can anyone not give this a 10.. unfortunately the taste is almost too astringent and solvent like, not a huge punch but noticeable that it almost burned which is strange for an IPA.. still I could use this as cologne and i’d love it.

Bottle from Clownoisseur! Poured into a nonic pint. Nice golden amber pour. Slight white head with light lacing. Aroma is big characteristic Mosaic citrus and pine. Taste is pine, resiny, sugary, lightly bitter. Nice crisp finish. One of the better Mosaic beers i’ve had.
