Beer thanks to mike, salty and roasty, thick and sweet, syrupy and roasty, a little too thick like tar for me

22 ounce bottle, poured a light black color with aromas of anise, light roast, some earth, and a touch of light chalk. Flavors are the same, a little earth and ash, mixed with some grounds, decent beer overall.

Bottle from 5/11- pours opaque blackish brown, dense khaki head that settles to a fine coat. Anise, molasses, roasted malts, nuts on the nose. Lighter bodied with milk thistle, roasted malts, chocolate malt on the tongue. Mellow oyster stout that's nice if not overbearing ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

22oz bomber via trade. Poured a medium to slightly thinner density dark black with a smaller foamy beige head. Aroma of older chocolates, stale bread, flat cola, soy and a hint of oxidation. Thinner to possibly medium body, watery mouthfeel, lighter carbonation and an average duration on the aftertaste. Flavor is a step up from the aroma, notes of light roasted malts, some chocolate, soy and cola, hint of root beer, and a touch of oxidation. I liked this one despite the thin body.

Bottle shared much thanks to Dave. Pours out an almost cola brownish color with a small off white head. Aroma is of molasses, light chocolate, dark dried fruits, soy sauce and light cola. Taste is roast, chocolate, molasses, soy sauce, light earthy notes, some sugary syrup. Solid.

Found my last bottle of this while moving, but now realize I never rated it...so this has quite a bit of age on it, but it held up really really well. Aroma is earthy, with mushroom, coffee and smoke. Taste is very salty, soy sauce, cooked mushrooms. Its a really interesting combination. This beer has a fantastic mouthfeel and a short tan foamy cap that just follows the beer as you drink it.

Sweet mellow and a little grainy on the nose. A good mix of sweet and savory. 5 on looks for the label. A little chalky mineral.

Bottle provided by Hopscotch. Thanks man! Pours opaque black with a creamy beige head. The aroma is sweet roasted malt, chocolate, creamy, light coffee and light minerals. The flavour is chocolate, light salty, roasted malt, light tar and liquorice. Full flavoured for the abv. Great stuff.

Poured from a bottle. Notes of chocolate, salt/mineral, fruity, caramel. A tasty beer overall.

Pour is thick, black, with little to no head. Aroma is of slight sweet malts, toasted grains, earth. Flavor is normal for a stout with just a tad of salt/spice in the body. Molasses, semi-sweet chocolate, cream. Light/medium bodied.
