Pours almost black in color with a finger of tan head. Smells rather salty. Nice roasted malt, a hint of chocolate, and dark fruit. The flavor has just a hint of bitterness. There’s really nice roastiness, good chocolate notes, light saltiness, and a hint of graham cracker.

Bottle. Poured black color with an average brown frothy head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate to heavy toasted dark chocolate malt aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium to heavy dark chocloate bittersweet flavor with a medium to heavy sweet finish of moderate to long duration. Very good beer.

Bottle… Pours black with a small, creamy, khaki head. Decent retention. The aroma is an elegant blend of confectionery and tree nuts - fudge, chocolate dipped almonds, cashews and pistachios. Full-bodied with lively carbonation. The flavor is chocolaty, nutty and moderately sweet. Finishes minerally, roasty and mildly bitter. Bottle generously shared by landhoney!

Bottle @ home, thanks to readbaron for sending this! Pours a black appearance with a dark brown head. The oyster presence is definitely noticeable in the nose with salty / earthy / mussel notes. There’s also a fair amount of anise, light spice, and some roast. Flavor is a bit twangy, almost tart-like flavor. A bunch of black licorice in the mouth along with roast. Body is a bit thin. Finishes with earth, chocolate, and a bit of coffee. Pretty solid but I’m really not a huge fan of Oyster Stouts to be honest.

Dark brown pour, tan head. Roasty and toast aroma, some light smoke, very light coffee. Flavor is roasty with a bit of smoke, no real note of the brine/oysters that Ive had in past oyster stouts. Still a very quaffable brew.

750mL thanks to nuplastikk. Pours deep brown to black with a medium, tan head. Rocky head retention. Nose is dark cherry, sweet milk chocolate, small saltwater brine. Taste is dry, tangy, mildly salty. Bitter dark chocolate. Quick finish. Easy palate. Dry and clean. Nice raw chocolate bitterness. Palate is crisp, clean, on style.

Sample at the Central OH BA Tasting at From The Vine on 06/02/2012: Brownish-black pour with a medium light tan head that recedes slowly. Partial rings of lacing. The aroma consists of earthy malt, molasses and chocolate. Light to medium body with a roasty character and flavors of malt, salted nuts and mild hops. The finish is semi-sweet with a chocolate malt aftertaste. Above average overall.
