22 oz. bottle served in a Hofbrauhaus Munchen tulip . A: Pours a dark black color with dark brown edges. A nice khaki head forms on the pour. It recedes quickly to a thick collar that leaves some splotchy sheets of lace left down the glass. S: Some solid chocolaty aspects to it up front with some lightly toasted malts. There is a little brine in there which I can attribute to the saltiness of the oyster shells. T: A large briny flavor sticks throughout each sip. There is some chocolate, dark fruits and lightly toasted grain flavors creating the body of the beer. M: Medium to thin bodied with a medium carbonation level and s light salty finish. O: A good take on the style, but I wish I got more roasted malt flavors and some sweet chocolate notes to compliment the salty flavors from the oyster shells. An imperial version might be the key here to grab more flavors out of the different elements and create more body as it was a tad thin for me. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 10-06-2012

22 ounce bottle. Thanks Keith! Pours a very dark brown with a small beige head. Aroma of malt, chocolate, and fruit. Taste is roasted malt, chocolate, dark fruit, and soy. Pretty good considering.

Bottle shared at Proof. Blackish pour. Salty aroma. Tastes are sweet malt, coffee, brine, hint of smoke. Iíve liked most oyster stouts Iíve tried - must be something with salty vibe. Would like to try this again. 7.6

Bottle share at Proof. Dark black with a great creamy tan head that lasts pretty well. Smoky and toasty malt aroma. Smoky-malty-chocolate flavor. Not much of the hint of salty-brine I typically see in oyster stouts. Great creamy mouthfeel with nice aftertaste of silty chocolate. Creamy nitro-like carbonation and thick viscous body.

Pours a thick black from the bottle with nice tan brown head that leaves moderate lace. Aroma of roasted malt, a hint of mineral in the middle, and some chocolate. Taste follows, more chocolate than mineral. Sweet and nice, but not crazy oyster.

Nice beer with solid roasty backbone and a nice mineral rich salty sweetness hidden in there. Really easy to drink and just full of tons of roasty flavor.

22 oz. bottle shared by jmborggren (April 2012). Pours a dark brown color with a medium sized beige head. The aroma and flavor have roasted malts, chocolate, soy, mildly briny character, some earthy bitterness to the finish. This was not bad, but is a style that needs to be done really well to pull off.

Beer thanks to mike, salty and roasty, thick and sweet, syrupy and roasty, a little too thick like tar for me

22 ounce bottle, poured a light black color with aromas of anise, light roast, some earth, and a touch of light chalk. Flavors are the same, a little earth and ash, mixed with some grounds, decent beer overall.

Bottle from 5/11- pours opaque blackish brown, dense khaki head that settles to a fine coat. Anise, molasses, roasted malts, nuts on the nose. Lighter bodied with milk thistle, roasted malts, chocolate malt on the tongue. Mellow oyster stout that's nice if not overbearing ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

22oz bomber via trade. Poured a medium to slightly thinner density dark black with a smaller foamy beige head. Aroma of older chocolates, stale bread, flat cola, soy and a hint of oxidation. Thinner to possibly medium body, watery mouthfeel, lighter carbonation and an average duration on the aftertaste. Flavor is a step up from the aroma, notes of light roasted malts, some chocolate, soy and cola, hint of root beer, and a touch of oxidation. I liked this one despite the thin body.
