The beer appears a golden amber hue with a quarter inch of white head that leaves some decent lacing upon the glass. The aroma is of smoke and smoked malt. I don’t think I could single out ham, per se, but I could get a sense of smoked meat in the nose. The flavor is decent and follows the aroma. I didn’t enjoy this brew nearly as much as my favorite authentic rauchbiers, but it was good nonetheless. The body was a tad thin for my liking. A fun beer, I would have it again.

Aroma is rich, malty and bready, some dry ricey character. Hazy brown color with a creamy light tan head. Dry toasty rye flavor, light sweetness. Nice highly drinkable, little smoke character.

Amber body, small offwhite head. Aroma is smoky, mild bacon, sweet malt. Smoked taste with vanilla, rye, salt meat, caramel and yeast, leaving a smoky and bitter finish. Pretty good stuff!

Draught at Mikkeller Bar, Copenhagen. Hazy reddish amber, small head. Aroma of beechwood smoke and bread. Medium bodied with rounded mouthfeel. Dried green apples and tar. Low-medium bitterness.

Draft. An amber beer with a lazing beige head. The aroma has notes of smoke, bacon, and caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of smoke, bacon, caramel, and malt, leading to a dry and smokey finish.

On tap @ Copenhagen Beer Celebration. This is a blurry glowing copper-golden one with a small sidesticking just off-white head. It smells like nosing on a smoked ham! Really smoky and beefy! Also some malt sweetness and to be honest, I don’t get much more. It’s literally just like smelling on a good old smoked Norwegian ham. It’s average carbonated and it has a soft and light oily texture in the mouth. Oh yeah, lots of beefy tones in the flavor as well. Long lasting smoky finish and aftertaste indeed, and there is also a light sweet tone blended in here somewhere. A tasty smoked! 12.05.2012

Tap at the Copenhagen Beer Celebration 2012. Pours clear, rich gold with a fine, white foam head. Modest to big smoke aroma with honey-cured ham accents. Medium to strong sweet flavor with great honey ham character, light smoke, just lots of caramel, honey and baked ham. Medium bodied with average to lively carbonation. Moderately sticky to finish with plenty more honey ham, caramel, and restrained smoke. Great honey ham, cured meat smoke beer.

Tap at CBC, May 2012. It pours clear orange, with a thin white head. The nose is smoked ham, bonfire, wood, smoked cheddar and some citrus. The taste is smoked Bavarian ham, meatiness, Applewood smoked cheddar, hay, straw, tangerine and orange. Medium body and prickly carbonation. Works quite well actually.

Tap at CBC, pours hazy orange/copper with medium head. Aroma & taste is smoked meat, some ash, roasted malts, some caramel. Pretty tasty, usually dont like smoked that much but this I liked better.
